First, I would like to say that I am Indian, and know what this food should taste like. We really wanted to like this place but were incredibly disappointed. I ordered the sag paneer And stressed that it had to be very mild as I am extremely allergic to chili peppers as an anaphylactic reaction allergic. I received an extremely spicy dish one that gave me a reaction within seconds. When I called to let them know the owner said they make mistakes sometimes, they’ll have two dishes, and just pick up the wrong one, as though it wasn’t a big deal. We also ordered the chicken kebab platter, which was supposed to have a paneer kebab, and did not, to which the owner replied. Oh yes, we made a mistake on the menu and are supposed to tell you when you order. I was not told about this when I ordered or picked up. We got vegetable pakoras that were so hard you literally could not bite through them, and papadum That were light and crispy on the top, but complete grease on the bottom, and honestly had basically no flavor (The bag they were in was all grease on the bottom, they had to double bag it a bag because the grease had leaked through when I picked it up). The one item that was really good was the mulligatawny soup, probably the best we’ve ever had. Oh, and we did get chicken biryani, which would have a bite with flavor, and then a bite with none. About that the owner said sometimes when they were mixing it in the pan they might stir it it so that some of the spices didn’t mix in on one side. That made absolutely no sense whatsoever. I called to discuss this inedible dinner with them, offering to bring it back so I can get a refund or a new dinner, and was told they don’t do credits, but I would get a refund. I waited a couple of days and out of the $78 I paid, I was refunded $14.99. I called to ask to speak to the manager, and when I gave my name I was told the manager could not speak to me. Definitely not a place I would ever return to...
Read moreI have had Mexican cuisine on the Cali/Mexico border. I have had seafood on the coast of the northeast and I have had steak in the heart of Texas. I have had regional cuisine on the beach in the Caribbean, and French dishes sitting right beside the Eiffel Tower. However, out of everywhere I have been in these United States and elsewhere, who would have thought I’d of eaten the most delicious meal I may have ever eaten in my life just 15 minutes down the road. Out of any sit down restaurant I have ever been to, I cannot recall ever having such a delicious, flavorful and enjoyable meal. From the perfectly cooked aromatic rice, to the deliciously crispy yet soft butter naan. The chicken, I mean.. How did they even make it so flavorful and so tender! How have I got my entire life without trying Indian cuisine? I will tell every single person I know, I will say they must come try the Curry Pot here in Wooster, Ohio. My wife and I came here just to try something new, something different. Now, we’ve agreed we must make it a priority to try each and every item on the menu. Even with it being an hour till closing, I was worried they’d give me the scraps of the pot and call it a night. How wrong I was to judge. I also want to make sure the owners know the waitress, Jordan, who was serving the dining area, she was professional, and a delight to talk to. She took time explaining answers to any questions I had, she was also extremely kind to my wife and I. She was being personable not just to our table, but each and every table she waited on. She is either genuinely kind, or just an absolutely great actor. I just cannot wait to come and try more dishes on the menu. With food like this, you’ve just earned yourself a repeat customer for as long as you’re open. I’m gonna drag everyone I know who’d never eat here into the restaurant. Who’d of thought this ol’ boy from the south would of ever...
Read moreWe used to have a positive opinion about this restaurant, so an issue of attitude, it is not. I really wanted to like this place, as it’s one of the only ones in this area that serves somewhat healthy food. I’ve got a lot to lose by not liking this restaurant when mostly all other ones in the area serve gut-deteriorating food. So if I’m here writing a bad review about it, you better believe I mean it.
We did a pickup order and what I ordered looked clean enough according to ingredients listed. But not long after eating it, I started experiencing horrible symptoms my body gets from consuming sugar (I’m completely sugar free). I emailed the restaurant asking whether there was sugar in the dish, and long story short, they said yes. As expected. I already knew it by the way my body reacted.
The fact the sugar wasn’t listed as an ingredient pissed me off as it is, but what really made me cringe is the customer service, if you can even call it that. Someone named Renoy Barua abandoned our chat mid-conversation, just like that. No apology, no offering of a compensation, nothing. Just ghosted me, like it was some personal conversation where professionalism isn’t required.
Never had such a careless and amateur experience in my life conversing with a business. I’m seriously rethinking my loyalty to...
