I am biased here as this place is part of my weekly routine, so take this with a grain of salt. My favorite bar in Wooster. Cocktails always made with appropriate glassware, ratios, and ice (not a given at many places). Jean marc is a cocktail wizard, do not be afraid to order classics (or really anything) not on the regular menu, if they have the ingredients (or anything close), he will be able to put together something delicious. For a menu cocktail I love their Paper Plane variant the Cleveland Jet. They make great Boulevardiers, Negronis, Daquiris and Manhattans. Have good options for wine by the glass, and a selection of bottles that is even better (speaking at least for the things that I like, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Port). Appropriate glassware for each wine as well, and will decant or chill as needed to get to correct aeration and/or temperature. Near perfect bar lighting. Tastefully decorated, with regular...
Read moreDisappointed would be putting it lightly. I’ve never been treated so poorly & felt so unwelcome in any establishment. We asked about a drink that was featured on your social media, and we were rudely told that you didn’t have the ingredients to make it. We were celebrating a friends birthday & this was the stop to end the night and it was your male bartenders top priority to make sure we were not return customers. Working in the service industry, you aren’t going to love every customer interaction you come into contact with and I understand with a group of 10 ladies, we were a little louder. But there’s never an excuse to treat people disrespectfully when they are there to spend money at your bar. Respectfully, I recommend hiring more friendly and welcoming bartenders. Not ones that who think they own the bar & need to be selective about their clientele because they’re unsocial and intimidated by a large...
Read moreHusband saw news special on Grigios and knowing I like to try new places, he took me there for Valentine’s Day. Terribly disappointing. Few customers but few places to sit unless you want to sit on an open couch. No paper menus or drink list available, only scan codes at tables. As newbie, I had no idea for mixed drink or husband for whiskey. Bartendress suggested nothing, was told to look at the wall of bottles. (All unfamiliar to us.) when i asked for sweet mixed drink was given something that tasted like coffee ??? No drink specials offered or suggested for V Day. Employee/Owner not very friendly. Not a welcoming atmosphere despite out willingness to pay for expensive drinks. I’m all for supporting small business but I don’t see a long life for this place. Must cater to wine snobs and aficionados. If you’re not one, don’t waste...
