This is such a hidden gem! I am so shocked that more people haven’t found this place. The food was so good, I was speechless. Food: We had the sambousik, the lamb rack, and the family size mixed grill. Everything was so delicious. The sambousik was kind of like a empanada and was so flaky and flavorful. The lamb was perfectly cooked and tender. No gaminess at all! The mixed kebobs also delicious, and surprisingly I liked the chicken one the most! The kitchen made a mistake and gave us the appetizer sampler (hummus, baba ghannouj, and labneh) and the hummus was the best I’ve ever had. We could not resist getting dessert in the end. We got both the baklava and ismaliyeh. The baklava was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of honey. The ismaliyeh was also a perfect balance of cream, sweet, and texture. I have never had anything like it before. Drinks: All of the drinks were amazing! Everything were the perfect balance of not being too sweet but tasting just enough of the alcohol. Honestly anything on the Signature cocktail menu was delicious for such a great price! If this was in Boston these drinks would’ve been over $20 but it was only $15. Service: The service was above and beyond! Everyone was so kind and constantly made sure we were doing ok. They were also so great about explaining all the food to us and what was in each dish since we were not too familiar with Lebanese food. Vibe: The overall vibe of the restaurant was so nice. The live music was so nice to listen to but was never overbearing where it interrupted conversation. Along with the great service, it really felt like eating at a high end restaurant for such reasonable prices!
At the end of the day, I can only say please check 961 Restaurant out! It is such a shame that people don’t know what a hidden gem this place is and this is definitely becoming our...
Read moreAtmosphere seemed great, had live music playing. I had about an hour wait to pick up someone from the train so I thought I'd hop in.
Stood at by the host stand for several minutes while host seemingly ignored me and rapidly texted something.
Figured I'd wait, y'know, important things come up.
Well, let me tell you, still no acknowledgement later, ended up just walking out.
Extremely bizarre experience all things considered. Restaurant had maybe several customers, 2 people behind bar, a waitress, and the host. Don't feel like it was overly crowded, the open door didn't give the impression of reservations only, so idk what the deal was. Gave me plenty of time to write this though.
Maybe I'll have better luck next time? If I...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised to find this very good restaurant which none of our party of 4 had ever heard of. We went on a hot Wednesday night and were the last diners. There was an excellent trio playing and singing old chestnuts who are there Wednesdays from 6-9. Two couples shared 2 salads which were huge and could easily be shared by 4 people. Three of us had chicken kebabs and one had a shrimp kebab. All quite good. The decor is mainly black and gold, not my favorite but is in no way a deal breaker. Our server/hostess who I imagine was an...
