I'm from NYC, and I gotta say, Volturno is easily one of the best meals I've had in Worcester. Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to hit this hard. The vibe is super chill despite the place being pretty massive, and once it filled up, the energy kicked up without ever tipping into chaos. Everyone who helped my boy and me was genuinely welcoming, you could tell they knew we weren't locals, but they made us feel right at home.
We started off with their burrata, and wow--silky, creamy, and paired with just the right accompaniments to make every bite sing. That alone could've been the highlight of the night... but then the pizzas showed up.
We grabbed a couple of well-crafted beers and ordered the fichi and margherita pies. Both were perfection: fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a flawless balance between crust, sauce, and toppings. None of that greasy heaviness that makes you regret life choices after. Instead, I left full but still feeling great, which says a lot for a carb-heavy night.
The space strikes a sweet balance of laid-back enough to relax, but polished enough that it feels like a proper night out. Volturno clearly takes their craft seriously. Their pizzas are googles clears throat "APN-certified and baked in a handmade, 100% wood-fired clay oven built in Italy by Gianni Acunto, blasting at around 900°F so they cook in just
60-90 seconds, giving you that perfect airy crust with a whisper of char."
Special shout-out to the bartender--she's a master of her craft. The cocktails aren't just there to fill a menu; they're thoughtful, creative, and executed perfectly, elevating the whole dining experience.
One thing to keep in mind: they don't take reservations, so if you're rolling in during peak hours, expect a short wait. But with the great music, friendly service, and food that'll have you thinking about it the next day, it's absolutely worth...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Volturno Pizza, and it was an excellent experience. This place truly excels in serving authentic Neapolitan-style pizza that stands out for its quality and flavor.
The pizzas at Volturno are crafted with incredibly fresh, in-house ingredients, which makes a significant difference in taste. The thin crust was perfectly cooked, offering a delightful crispiness that complemented the toppings beautifully. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, from the tangy tomato sauce to the fresh mozzarella and the variety of other high-quality ingredients.
One of the highlights of my visit was the Margherita pizza. The simplicity of the fresh basil, rich tomato sauce, and creamy mozzarella came together perfectly on the thin, crispy crust. It was evident that great care is taken in selecting and preparing the ingredients, resulting in a pizza that is both authentic and delicious.
The ambiance of Volturno Pizza is also worth mentioning. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish.
Overall, Volturno Pizza is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy truly authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. The combination of fresh, in-house ingredients and expertly crafted thin crust makes for an exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend it to pizza lovers and anyone seeking a taste of Italy.

Read moreRecently another restaurant cancelled my birthday reservation about 2 hours before the dinner– it was a 14 person party. I on a whim called Volturno's on a super busy Tuesday (because of their awesome BOGO) not expecting them to be able to do much because I know they don't do reservations. I explained to the situation to them, knowing I was asking for way too much, but I don't know maybe some miracle would occur. They told me there was an over hour wait because it was exceptionally busy and no reservations but to send somebody over to sit at the bar and they would seat us as soon as some tables opened (this was at 6:30 they close at 9:30, I still can't believe they were willing to do this). Some tables open and we all got there by 8:30 they had already brought out these lovely grazing plates (on the house!) treated our insanely large party with the utmost care and respect and kept the restaurant open an hour after closing to sing happy birthday to me with a cake my friend's brought. They didn't just allow us to be there, they made it so that we didn't feel like a burden, they treated us so well, so friendly! Our waitress was beyond phenomenal (the staff at Volturno's always is)! Thank you Volturno's and everyone involved for making my night special, you absolutely turned it around, nothing could've been done better! I already loved Volturno's for the amazing food, the awesome staff, but this is a whole other level love and care for patrons. Thank you so much again, you guys deserve all the success you've amassed,...
