Cali-ritos Burrito Grill - Worcester — Restaurant in Worcester

A friend of mine told me a couple years back that he got violently sick from eating at this restaurant, so I never bothered eating here since then. Well last night I decided to give this place a shot because I pass it everyday on my way to work and going home. I ordered a chicken burrito with lettuce, Spanish rice, pinto beans, cheese. I was already a little worried once I received the burrito and it wasn’t even rolled, once I took it out of the tinfoil it had just fallen apart… I mean come on you’re competitors down the street have part time kids rolling these in their sleep. So after eating about half the burrito my stomach was feeling extremely uncomfortable and bloated. Now waking up this morning I am extremely sick, showing very clear symptoms of food poising. In my completely honest opinion, you’re way better off picking up a bowl or burrito right down at the Chipotle or even Moes, this was a horrible experience and I would not recommend taking the gamble if you don’t want poorly made food with the chance of...

After seeing an article claiming that these folks have the biggest burritos in worcester, I decided I had to check it out for myself. However after reviewing the menu, I could not resist ordering the birria tacos instead. I got 10% off for doing a first time online order, and paid a little less than $13, which seemed a little expensive, but I would have to say it was worth it. The three birria tacos were completely stuffed with fairly tasty, extremely juicy, and tender meat and cheese. I would have been happy if they had added more onions, and cilantro. The tortillas were grilled perfectly and had a nice crisp texture to them. Served with consomme on the side for dipping. I also got some of the hot salsa which was delicious and had a nice Smoky taste to it. Also when I was picking up my food, I saw several burritos being made which were completely stuffed and looked delicious. The staff was very friendly, and the food came out quickly. I will definitely be back soon...

The tacos were pretty good, so no problem with how the food tasted, but I do have to say, the place was not very clean. Specifically, the food well behind the counter where they were scooping food from had lots of old food all over the tops and sides of the well. That was pretty gross. There were also A LOT of ants over by the condiments and windowsill and lots of little bugs flying around there as well. The trash and recycling bins were completely overflowing and were on either side of the condiment area, which probably contributed to the insects.
