Five Below — Local services in Shrewsbury

Updated: Today, I went with my dad, and the situation from before with the manager Veronica was resolved, and that issue was taken. Today, I had a quick question for Veronica, and another nice young girl Cat helped me . They are very nice , there are no complaints anymore with this store. So my pior situation shouldn't affect this now. We shop here a lot and we love shopping at 5 Below.

This 5 below is such a huge shame ! For a brand - New, they have absolutely nothing at all. I was gonna buy those Fitness Gloves $ 3.00 when I scanned them up . They range up at $3.25 & and then in had to different prices one was $3.45 & w/ sale tax $3.45 . The gloves were marked $3.00 buy the company, it was not a sticker which an 5 Below employee put on.

I asked for help, and the young men were not helpful! With the $ 3.00 & you add the 6.25%, which is our sales tax for the state of Massachusetts. He was arguing with me & saying that the sales tax was 6.29 %, which he was 1,000 % wrong ! Then I asked to speak with someone who could possibly help take care of the matter.

**Veronica came over & was extremely rude , and the argument was not helpful. ("She said Im not a Robot") ! Those are her exact words, she said , "I'm trying to figure this out & she said I was hey upset & irritated. I was decent/ friendly at first, and after 10 mins of the 2 people trying to figure out how to price adjust, I just lost it & said I want my money 💰back . Then, at that point, they didn't know how to do a return . How do you not know how to do a return?

Then I'd said Im just gonna write a review, just give me my money back & Veronica ,said please write the review, I said I'm (" NEVER") gonna come to this place ever, she said that's fine ! And as I was leaving loudly said, please write that review. When I came home with my best friend, they screwed me out of my exact money. I paid $5.00 and never received my $1.00 back....

One Year Review It is August 20th, 2022 and FiveBelow has been in Shrewsbury, MA around a year now; while they are a great store to grab the latest and trendiest items cheap....I feel like their CEO (Formerly of Zany Brainy) is taking a "too familiar" road that he should turn back on before it becomes too late and here's the reasons why:

5 Below!!! It's meant to be $5 and UNDER. If you're going to add higher priced items, maybe it's time to consider a name change since your name contradicts the stores mission.

5Below was once known as Zany Brainy, which was owned by FAO Schwartz' David Schlessinger. Zany Brainy filed Chapter 11 in 2001 ultimately shuttering their last brick and mortar stores in 2003.

People in the Worcester/Shrewsbury area want more stores that are like how Dollar Tree USED TO sell items for $1 each between the gas increases, product shortages, etc....I honestly don't see this being recognized as a lucrative idea in society today.

About Shrewsbury, MA store:

The employees are always helpful, polite, friendly and knowledgeable with their stores products. The last time I was there all the Iphone cases 12-13 pro max were all sold out and people were asking for them. The self checkout did not flow customer wise like it did last year as now you have A LOT of rude customers who rather push paying customers out of their way or even complain about how they have to wait. Self scan also is a flawed system since there is usually one employee working it.. a customer can be asking for assistance, while another is taking advantage of that time to steal from you all. Sadly....Fourth of July/Summer is over and IT IS STILL OUT ON THE SHELVES and a-lot of the room decor has been on the shelves since last Summer's opening.... Oh my gosh, this is the same practices I saw over 20+ years ago at the ZB stores that put them out of business.

My 8 yr old granddaughter and any kid for that matter, loves this store. I love listening to children and their irrational theories on how far the $20 bill is gonna go in $5 below 🤣 I took my granddaughter this past Thursday. I told her, she had a budget of $12 and that's including taxes.

I insist she walk around the store 1st instead of grabbing this and then putting it back to grab something else that caught her eye. She kinda does it this way but halfway around the store and she's emotionally invested in many things just like her Nana.

She actually made some top Tier picks. The Pat's could use her expertise right about now.

She got this really nice deluxe box of sidewalk chalk and some pink headphones to go with MY tablet that ai ended up giving her for that very reason. It's almost as if she planned it...
