The food is good the service can lack sometimes but this may be due to their recent burst in popularity and them unable to properly tackle the work load. Livias Dish has a few must have options on their menu this includes dishes like the Eggs Benedict or the Poached Eggs and Steak. Most of all the fan favorite seems to come down to the Fried Chicken and Wafles the meal comes with your option of specialty Butter or Regular if you get this dish it's highly recommended you get the Wallnut Butter with sprinkled wallnut on top it truly transforms the experience of your typical fried chicken and waffles to a Livias Dish Fried Chicken and waffles. The reason why I leave a 3 star review however is due to the fact that Livias Dish Suffers from a severe case of over hype. Every time I've been there our food arrived at our table at different times some of us finishing our meal before others could begin eating they under cook or over cook the steak every time and the last time I was there they had given me what 2as supposed to be a medium rare steak and what I received was a well done steak that was partially cold and still had the wax paper from packaging on it. Where the wax paper sat was the only rare part on the surface of the bottom side of the steak. The waitress was willing to replace it promptly by then however we had all concluded our meals and where preparing to pay and leave. Finally the Fried chicken and waffles are delicious but what ever they do in preparation and cooking makes it sit to heavy on the stomach making this a breakfast diner not a wake up and go time of situation more of a get your day started and be there once your digestive tract has settled if you intend to snag the Fried chicken and waffles and not become nauseous. Three out of Five stars check this place out its worth your money worth your time and worth the wait. This place has fantastic atmosphere a peculiar wait staff and most of all morning...
Read moreLet's start with the positives: our waitress and hostess were just lovely! They were patient and kind which both seem to be qualities that are lacking these days in the food/service industry. The atmosphere was okay - they played a lot of obscure Spanish music that didn't really fit the vibe of the restaurant. There's A LOT of beige, and in general (at least the area we sat in) felt pretty uninviting.
Now for the negatives: to start, the coffee was terrible. It was sour(???) and even sugar didn't save it. It was somehow watery and very acidic at the same time. When we received our waters and when my partner received his orange juice, the straws were already opened and in our respective glasses. Not exactly sanitary.
My partner got the chicken and waffles, which "wasn't bad" but he's had "better waffles." The chicken was a very thinly pounded cutlet versus the fried chicken breast you'd imagine would come with it.
I got the smoked salmon Benedict: it was horrible. The hollandaise was extremely sour and split and the smoked salmon was very fishy. I love a good smoked salmon and this was just not it. The panini bread it came on was stale and tasted days old.
We got the Nutella "lightly fried" french toast bites to split; they were okay, but definitely over-fried. This gave them a nice crunch but unfortunately all you could taste was oil. The Nutella and fruit were almost flavorless.
Lastly, the bathroom apparently doesn't have heat because it was freezing in there! Bring mittens! The large OJ (which is NOT freshly squeezed) was SIX DOLLARS! Yikes!
Final verdict: 2/5. Definitely not worth a long drive to; there are better breakfast...
Read moreI dislike that I'm leaving a bad review on Father's Day. I've been coming back here for a few years giving multiple chances, but this is the last straw. Our food is ALWAYS terrible. I can't even believe this place has 4+ stars on review. Those reviews must be from dishonest but loyal friends/family/supporters. The home fries here are like soup, always wet, never the slightest bit of crunch, and just overall disgusting. How do you mess up a potato so frequently? There was a hair in my sons food. The orange juice was warm. The corned beef....garbage. the poached eggs were basically hard boiled. I had moldy celery in my bloody Mary even after asking for no celery. Moldy. Celery. Even the water is disgusting here. They brought the wrong food to my daughter and had to recook her dish, resulting in her salmon Benedict having ice cold salmon and UNDERCOOKED poached eggs. Even after addressing these issues with our waitress the manager never came to our table. We didn't even have silverware until my other son finished his breakfast sandwich. Oh, and the drinking glasses were cloudy and dirty looking. I kept giving chances to this place, but I'll never return. I just paid 150 bucks for 2 adults and 3 kids to have the worst breakfast I've had in years. We are literally sitting at the Dunkin Donuts drive through right now and we just left Livia's. If you feel the same way I do, please share your opinion to push management here to make the changes they need so patrons don't leave...
