We have been to multiple Five Guys locations but have frequented the location in Evergreen Park, often...but not anymore. The store is ALWAYS clean, bright and inviting. The staff always welcomes customers in. You can snack on fresh shelled peanuts while you wait for your order. The burger prices are reasonable. The menu is huge and just behind the counter. They have shakes; chocolate, vanilla and (I think) strawberry. The fries are fresh cut, piping hot and are the best part of the Five Guys experience. My husband and I went to the aforementioned location on 05.20.23 against our better judgement and I'll elaborate. They NEVER seem to get our burger orders right. No mayo, no mushrooms, no tomato and heavy pickles and bacon for my husband. No pickles, no tomatoes, no mushrooms for me. We've been ordering our sandwiches like this for decades. 9.5 times out of ten, the condiments on our burgers are incorrect! They're either missing what we asked for or there are condiments present we didn't request. The manner in which we wanted our burgers were clearly delineated on the receipt. The cashier even repeats the order back to the customer for accuracy so I do not know why the execution in making the orders fails. Customers should not have to dig in their food before leaving but that's what you have to do at this location. To be honest, the burgers are good once you scrape off the extras you...
Read moreI felt like I hadn't had Five Guys in years so when I noticed one nearby, I decided to stop by. The place is spotless. Management here runs a clean, efficient ship. The entire staff greets you when you walk in & they announce to eachother when they spot a drive-thru or walk-in customer approaching. They take pride in taking care of the customers. I started to place my order then was reminded why I stopped going to Five Guys when I saw that a cheeseburger was $11.49 & a large fry... $8.39. A regular sized drink (medium in most fast food places) is $3.09! Just completely outrageous pricing. In end I spent over $25 for a cheeseburger, fries & drink, but at least I get those wonderful free peanuts that hardly anybody touches (sarcasm.) The food took way longer than expected...probably about 15-20 minutes when there was nobody ahead of me & it being a ghost town overall.
Is the food good? Of course, it always is fantastic. Five Guys sets the gold standard for smash burgers. On the otherhand there's a reason why Five Guys is empty most of the time. The brand desperately needs to change their business model. For one stop buying pallets of peanuts & just keep a sack in the back that customers can request scoops from. That way you don't have to jack up prices to cover the peanut expense. Slicing up a 2-3 potatoes & throwing them in oil doesn't justify the...
Read moreThe all girls crew was professional and friendly. The only male started after I entered. Next, he went from seating area to sweeping the floor. I wanted to say to the manager why you are letting him sweep while you are cooking and preparing food. I decided I didn't want to ruffle anyone feathers. I received my food and drove off. I got to the stop sign and realized they didn't give me my son's $6.69 strawberry shake. I went back in, and I told them in a joking way that I wanted my tip back because they failed to give me my shake. You would think the manager who was yacking it up with them should have come over and apologized and gave me a refund or an additional shake. Needless to say, I would have refused because they have the weakest shakes in all restaurant chains. I should have requested a refund, but that would have taken time off my hot food. Next time I am feeling a need for a burger, I will go to Jewels and get a pub burger and...
