Oct 2022: So they sent me a coupon a couple of weeks ago for a screwed up order. Pretty card with a hologram. Go there today and place an order. They REFUSED to honor the coupon. Why? It has "Chicagoland McDonald's" printed on it. "We're not in Chicago." Me - yes you are. ChicagoLAND is Chicago and the surrounding areas. You sent me this card. "We're not in Chicagoland. We're in Oak Lawn Land." Can't make this stuff up. They screw up, send a coupon, then refuse to honor the coupon. Plenty of other places nearby.
May 2022: What happened to manners and customer service? Customer in front of me in drive-thru could not pay. Watched her hand a few different credit cards. Her phone. Her phone again. 7 minutes. I was stuck between her and the car behind me or would have left. Watched car after car leave. Another 3 minutes. She FINALLY pulls up. My turn. "You had the xxxx. $13.23" No "please." No "sorry for the wait." Zero manners. So I left. As did the next person in line.
Feb. 2022 - Why do I bother? Chicken nuggets - the box had more taste and they forgot the sauce. Cheese burger was cold. Southwest salad? What a rip-off. Now pre-packaged, 1/2 the size it used to be - and half of it was FROZEN. They obviously had it stored wrong. Maybe 12 bites of salad that worked out to be 50 cents per forkfull for a cold, half frozen mess.
Tried again today (Jan 2022). Drive thru was empty (never a good sign, BTW.) Placed a simple order. #3 meal, large. #7 meal, medium. They read it back as a #2 meal, medium and #5 large. "No, let's start over..." #3 meal - the double quarter pounder meal. Diet coke, no ice. Large meal. #7 meal - that's the one with two cheeseburgers. Medium." Read it back: #3 meal, medium. Large diet coke. Two cheese burgers. Double quarter pounder. I literally tried five times to place a simple order. I watched the person next to me pull away and leave while this was going on - must have had a similar experience. I also left without being to place my order. I think they must be scraping the dregs in the unemployment line to fill these spots. It's so obvious employees could care less about customer service.
Edited one year after original review: Still terrible. Nothing right in the order, everything cold. Skip this place.
Every time I go here, I think "these people want $15 an hour? My order is wrong more often that it's right. Sundaes are usually short-filled. Have had salads that looked like they were scraped off the floor. Employees obviously don't dive a darn.
It is so hit or miss. Went today (13/13/19) - S.W. chicken salad. Grilled chicken. The chicken was cold and like chicken-jerky. Seriously - the plastic fork tines bent. More of a dog-treat. There was a mystery red piece of something - that was shriveled and like a rock. First time I've even seen that. There's supposed to be lime - no lime.
Two cheeseburgers. Both cold. 1 medium diet coke. 2" short fill.
One of the drive-thru lanes closed, long line, no cashier - 1st window closed.
Time to stop going to...
Read moreThe service needs work. No one greeted me or any other customers with a friendly, enthusiastic greeting or a smile. No salt, pepper or ketchup out for customer's self service. InWhen I asked for ketchup, it was as if I was bothering the young lady cashier. My food was hot, but the buns on my two cheese burgers were hard and old. The hamburger patties were thin and small in size. And the burgers were made sloppily and the presentation unappealing. The dining area was very clean and impressive. Tables were wiped down and free of mess and stains. Outside trash can was filled and pouring out garbage. Windows were clean inside and outside. Some employees were dressed in uniform that were clean. While others were stained and wrinkled and pants were sagging down below the belt line as well as belts not being worn. That is not a good look. I know that the job may be hard to avoid spills on employee uniforms from time to time. That is very understood. However, two employees were just arriving to work their shift and their attire was substandard in appearance. The parking lot was clean and nicely groomed with excellent landscaping and a nicely cut lawn. Overall, I give it a 5 out of 10. Plenty of room for improvement. Managers need to act like managers and implement some authority to make a positive impact on your employees. No brow beating. Work smart and effective. The late night windows have always been satisfactory in my experience for over a year now. Thank you on a job well done. Everyone needs to do their part and go the extra step to make this McDonald's restaurant soar to the top in quality service to customers. Take pride where you are employed. And when you are serving a customer, carry yourselves with dignity and composer. Smiles are free and people feed off of that and will respond in a much more friendly and positive way. Try it. It works. Good luck to all. And I will be writing another review in September....
