Virginia Heights Restaurant — Restaurant in Wytheville

We arrived at restaurant and was told to seat ourselves and most of the tables were dirty . Took forever to get menu . And then we were ask if someone was helping us . Finally a girl came to clean table and looked over and ask if we were ready to order? After placing order we kept waiting on coffee. Finally had to ask for a cup . All the servers complained about the other one . We only had one set of silverware so had to ask for another set. When food arrived was cold. I got waffle special and had to ask for syrup . Husband got breakfast platter and potatos were cold, dry and burnt. Husband went to bathroom and said was nasty. One of the girls laid bill on table and my husband said that was the fastest thing we got lol. We went in for breakfast we walked in at 11:10 the women at the hostess stand was busy texting finally turned ask if we were getting pick-up we said no and she said sit wherever you want. We found in the mostly empty restaurant a seat server came over with menues quickly and we ordered drinks. The server returned with the drinks and I asked a question about breakfast menu and was told we missed breakfast so we looked over menu and came up with a lunch option. While we waited for our meal we noticed not one but at least seven people come in and order breakfast, I guess if you have been in before you get to get breakfast whenever you want. I have visited Va Heights numerous times over the past 20 years. I selected the restaurant to introduce a friend to the good food and service after church. An apparently new waitress was not prepared to serve customers. I had to request her to clean our table and take our orders. It was me that suggested my guest receive a menu to select his meal. The waitress wandered around the dining room with meals trying to determine who ordered which dish. We did not receive a complete meal and no refills on water or coffee. Finally skipped the dessert which was included. Upon checking out the established waitress apologized for our experience and thanked us for being kind and patient.
