This restaurant was absolutely horrible!! The only reason I left 1 star was cause I had to in order to leave a review!! We ordered from their tiny menu and asked for cheese on the rice and beans and the guy taking the order told us we aren't El Porton we only have Mexican cheese...which was fine. Then proceeded to make jokes about EL Porton. When we got our food....there was no cheese on the rice and beans so they took the plates back and put hardly any on our beans only then called out the El Porton special...not funny at all in my opinion. Our food was absolutely horrible. There was very little on the plate for the price, plus it had absolutely no taste at all!! They forgot to put limes on my plate for my street Taco's so I asked for some and they gave me a couple saying the people in the kitchen were new....but the plates that came out while waiting for the limes had plenty of limes and bigger portions on them. We asked for Togo boxes and went to El Porton!! I DO NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone!! The worst dining experience in Yakima on top of...
Read moreSo I heard from a few people about how great this place was, well my friend and I did not get that experience, the food portions were tiny the food was tasteless, and the service was horrible. The guy taking our order kept calling us the El porton specials very very loudly because I asked for cheese on my food, I was really looking forward to trying them out because all I heard was good things, well needless to say my friend and I eat about 2 bites of out of our tasteless and cold food that was made wrong on my order and no limes for my friends but every other person who ordered what she had got tons of limes. Well we boxed up our nasty food and went to El porton where the food and servings and waitress were great oh and they were out of everything I wanted from their tiny selection at Mercedes, Mercedes my butt should be called...
Read moreBefore: Superior, authentic, family-owned/run, hole-in-the-wall place. Very friendly staff, quick service, eat-in or take-out. Yummy at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. They expanded in summer 2017 and the new space has a troublesome echo. Add to that the booming voice of the male proprietor, it can be unpleasant to eat in. Maybe consider take-out. The food continues to be good and the prices are moderate. After: they had a grease fire in summer 2018. Still closed in September. No sign of rebuilding. More Recent (2019): They moved to a previous pizza joint's space on Lincoln Ave. The food continues to be good. The space is much bigger, and what used to be a noise problem in the old space is now no longer a problem. I'll...
