New Tokyo Restaurant — Restaurant in Youngsville

I ordered takeout around 5:30 this evening - one plate of hibachi steak & shrimp and one plate of hibachi scallops & steak. The lady on the phone was very polite and repeated my order back to me which was a definite plus - it would only be a 10 minute wait.

I arrived about 15 minutes later, gave the lady at the counter the last 4 of my phone number - which is how they keep track of orders (great idea), paid for my food - it was actually ready and I didn't have to wait, like I've done in the past at previous restaurants. I appreciate that they asked how many sauces I'd like and didn't try to charge for them.. of course I was respectful and only asked for 2 of each.. but yall, their sauces!! DELICIOUS!! Better than most Japanese steakhouses!!

Their prices are very reasonable along with their portions - they fill you up for sure. The food was flavourful - succulent and large scallops, not those little baby ones, these were the real deal. The steak was super thin, but it wasn't chewy as you would expect and there was hardly any fat. Two large scoops of rice accompanied by zucchini, onions and broccoli (nice surprise to the typical habachi) - NO carrots, which I hate, thank goodness.. lol.

In all, this place is really good - I can't believe I've driven by it so many times and never stopped in. I wish I would have taken pictures to post, but we devoured it so fast.

Hmm, it's not bad. Not bad at all. You can watch the chief cook your dinner thru a window over the grill overseeing the dining area.

Food so far has been good and the wife and I been eating there since they opened. Only issue I've had so far is a couple times they forgot to add my wife's terriaki sauce over her scallops and, one really bad night where they mixed my meal up with somebody else's order. Worst part of that wasn't the food issue, but rather the fact that one of the girls insisted on arguing it with me and then holding a grudge to this day. If she's behind the register,, I know I'm going to get a dirty look or two, but who cares right? I Know the truth of the matter.

Worst customer service in my entire life. My husband and I drove up to New Tokyo at 9:45 p.m., and they already had their lights off. Was turning their tvs off while some were still eating inside. Rushing people out the door just for their convenience, not ours. I asked what time they closed, and the employee said 10pm and gave me an attitude. I asked, "So why are you closing at 9:45 pm?" And he acted like he didn't care. I'll definitely take my business elsewhere. This isn't the only time this has happened to me.
