I went here for the first time on a Friday afternoon around 4. It was a beautiful day! The sky was blue and it finally warm in the low 70's. I had got off work 2 hours early so I decided to go to this bar because I knew it had a Pokemon gym and 2 stops that you could hit without leaving the bar. Plus sometimes your avatar will take a walk down the street and you can hit two more stops! I live outside town where there are zero stops so I was low on inventory. I sat at the bar and ordered a Captain Morgan and rum as well as a Jager bomb. I guess I really didn't think that through since this is my first time. I had know idea how strong those drinks were gonna be nor their size. Price of those drinks was $13 all together. Reasonably priced. I liked the price even more when I saw the size of the mother loving Jager bomb! The bartender left an entire 8.4 oz Red Bull that was chilled and at least 2-2.5 shots of Jager in a pint glass. Holy cow! I instantly knew I had ordered too much for myself so I had to make a choice between the two drinks. I went with the Jager bomb! It definitely got me buzzed! It took me almost 2 hours to drink that Jager bomb! I'm a lightweight though. The atmosphere was light hearted and friendly. The interior is much more cramped than it looks from the outside. They have half of the bar sectioned off for pool and other games. They even have a cool dart board with a digital interface to start the games. They have a reason long bar with plenty of seats for it. The booths are located next to the dart board in the back of the bar. There was cool songs playing such as House of the Rising Sun and Looking for some Touch. I enjoyed how original and old the place looked. As if it was stuck in a time loop! There are interesting wood murals along the walls. And a picture of a man named Mr. Thomas, who was a regular and well loved patron that had passed away. There are a few TVs mounted and they were repeating the latest Tigers defeat endlessly. I also caught a glimpse of one of those touch screen game centers that eats your money because they are so addicting to play. Anyway, great place, friendly people, fair prices, and great location for...
Read moreMy husband was asked to leave because he did not want to purchase food or drinks. We had a table of 3 people, my husband came to pay the entire bill, as I had left my wallet. The waitress came to our table, asked what he wanted. He politely told her he would not be ordering just came to drop in. The waitress then told him he would need to leave because he was now considered to be loitering.
We told her the situation as to why he was there and not eating, and her response was; those are the rules there was nothing she can do. She explains they have been having issues with tables of 6-8 people who would be sitting and not paying for food or drinks.
I Insisted her story has nothing to do with my table of 3 people eating and drinking costumers and the 4th not eating- but is paying the bill.. she again said he would have to leave or purchase a water. I spoke with the "manager " behind the bar whom our waitress said she took orders from. When I asked about the situation, she told me she's just a bar tender and those are the owners rules. She kept repeating 'I don't know what to tell you '
I've been coming to that bar for eight years, needless to say that was my last day. We gladly left and enjoyed ourselves...
Read moreWe decided to go to the tap room after finding out the barbecue place next-door was an hour wait. We are greeted by Joshua, I believe that was the gentleman‘s name, and I use the term gentlemen quite loosely. There was nothing extraordinary about our waiter Joshua. He messed up the order for my sweet potato fries, as well as not coming back to see how things were going with us. We were never ask if we wanted more drinks or just to see how things were going in general. The bill was close to $80. We tip the gentleman, again loose term, at seven or 8%. After he picked up the sign Credit card receipt and saw what we had tipped him he makes a comment that he hoped everything was OK and blatantly exclaimed well then why do you tip less than 10%? I am formed him this was unacceptable and I did not tell him to get a job as a waiter. Judging by his reaction to the tip of his general lack of concern as far as us being patrons, I informed him he was quite lucky to have that. Going forward if we are ever to eat in Ypsilanti we will not be going to the tap room ever again. Management can thank...
