Ypsi Cocktail Club: A Michigan Gem for Unforgettable Cocktails
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ypsi Cocktail Club, a hidden gem nestled in downtown Ypsilanti. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a special experience. The warm and inviting ambiance combined with the impressive lineup of craft cocktails made this an experience to remember.
One of the highlights of my evening was the Absinthe Minded cocktail. Featuring the locally made Water Hill Absinthe, this enchanting drink took me on a journey through flavors and history. The herbal notes of the absinthe were beautifully balanced, creating a delightful complexity that lingered on my palate. It was a true testament to the artistry of the mixologists.
Next up was the Lavender Gold Rush, a cocktail that showcased the local Fox River Michigan Whiskey. This refreshing concoction blended the rich, smoky notes of the whiskey with the subtle sweetness of lavender. The result was a harmonious marriage of flavors that danced on my tongue and left me craving another sip.
Beyond the extraordinary libations, the Ypsi Cocktail Club boasts a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The bartender demonstrated an evident passion for her craft and taking the time to ensure my experience was all the more enjoyable.
The attention to detail extends to the bar’s cozy and inviting atmosphere. The sleek décor and comfortable seating create the perfect backdrop for savoring these exceptional cocktails. Whether you’re seeking an intimate night out or a place to gather with friends, Ypsi Cocktail Club has you covered.
In summary, Ypsi Cocktail Club is a hidden gem in Michigan’s vibrant cocktail scene. With its commitment to using locally made spirits and its innovative approach to mixology, it offers an experience that is both unique and memorable. The Absinthe Minded and Lavender Gold Rush cocktails were a testament to the skill and creativity of the bartenders. I highly recommend Ypsi Cocktail Club to anyone in search of an extraordinary libation. With its warm ambiance, stellar service, and exceptional cocktails, this establishment earns a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars.
Cheers to Ypsi Cocktail Club for delivering an unforgettable experience that showcases the best of Michigan’s craft...
Read moreI have never given a one-star review before, and am sad to have to do it now. I've been to YCC several times. To start off the evening, I asked if I could get a rum and coke, and rather than politely explaining that rum isn't one of the local spirits or options they have from the distillery, our bartender answered with a short "no" before finally saying "we're a tasting room." She didn't offer any suggestions or options.
As they don't serve food, I have brought carry out in several times. Tonight, as in the past, a friend and I wanted to have dinner with our cocktails. We went across the street to Ma Lou's and brought it in. First, the bartender asked us to move tables to not get anything on the couch. As if dropping a french fry is worse than spilling a cocktail. Then, she brings us our tabs without asking us if we want anything else. When I went to the restroom, she came over to my friend and said to not bring in Ma Lou's again. My friend said she had brought outside food and Ma Lou's before, to which the employee replied "there's a difference between crudités and something that makes the place smell like fried chicken."
I have brought food several times before, I have brought Ma Lou's several times before, and Bobcat Bonnie's dinner, and always been treated graciously. This was really unprecedented behavior... not just for Ypsi Cocktail Club, but for any restaurant/service I have ever encountered.
I'm sad a local business has been ruined for me. I love supporting my downtown Ypsi businesses, and will not be...
Read moreBad vibes!! Yuck! They say you can bring in your own food (because they don't serve food). But this time, an employee rudely told us our food stinks up the place, and it's not cute. See below for more details.
We have been coming to Ypsi Cocktail Club since its opening. Since the beginning, they have invited us to bring in food from outside places because they don't serve their own food. Numerous other times, we've brought in food from Ma Lou's and C.King&Co. This time, an employee interrupted our conversation right after we opened our food and hadn't eaten yet, (but also after we ordered our drinks) to say in a condescending tone, "Please don't bring Ma Lou's in here. It makes the whole place stink, and it's not cute." She said you're allowed to bring in food but not that. Since when can you say you can bring in food but make unwritten rules about what kind? BBQ sandwich, chicken burger, and fries?? Then she proceeded to open the door and leave the door open the entire time we were there, making it chilly in the bar. Good cocktails but overpriced for Ypsi and bad vibes. Used to recommend this place but this left a very bad taste...
