El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Yuba City

What to say... well to start, the dining area was pretty filthy. Crumbs and scraps of straw wrappers were everywhere. I noticed they had gender neutral bathrooms, so kudos for that. When I ordered, the guy at the counter was searching around for the manager's card key to open the register with. Fortunately, I just paid with debit, so he didn't have to find the card. Unfortunately, he couldn't find my item (double chicken avocado salad) on the register, so he needed to call someone over to help him find it. I know this place just opened but I cant be the first person to order that. The assembly station back in the kitchen looked very messy, bits of food everywhere. Soda fountain was nearly overflowing with ice. Most unappetizing of all was the salsa bar. The housemade stuff looked... frothy is the only way to say it. I don't know if it's normal to put ice cubes in the avocado salsa, but it didn't seem that way. Might be showing my ignorance here. Anyway, the food itself was decent, can't complain there. It is pretty hard to screw up a grilled chicken salad. I should probably be hesitant to put this stuff in my mouth considering the conditions of where it was assembled but I'm really hungry right now. Probably won't come back here though, unless they make a bigger effort to keep...

This place isn't bad. I usually get the avocado chicken burrito and 2 piece meal. The chicken lacks flavor and the burrito is on point. With the sauces they provide does tend to make the chicken a little better, but still doesn't fit my needs. The food needs little bit more kick. Overall I still like to go here and eat, but this won't be my first choice nor will it be my last. I would still recommend this place.

The atomshpere is comfortable, but can be loud from time to time. Location wise it's a good spot can be seem from the main highway. The outside sitting I would not prefer due to heavy traffic that drives by. This isn't really a quite place to dine.

The wait for the food can be cumbersome. On my second trip there I had to wait twenty min or so to get my food. The insane part that day they weren't busy. I honestly think they forgot about my order. If I hadn't said anything I would have been there a long long time.

El Pollo Loco is one of my favorite spots for fast food and this location specifically has been very consistent on the service and quality they provide. Their chicken is really good, I've tried almost all their items because I love trying new food and I just love their chicken. The tostada salad, their bowls, tacos and holiday tamales and bowls are my favorite. My suggestion is for you to download the app so you place your order ahead and also earn some rewards. There's usually gonna be one or two special offers on the app, although my favorite value meal on the menu doesn't need a coupon, and it is the Original Pollo Bowl, you'll get a small size (which is enough) chicken bowl, tortillas or chips and a drink for 5.99 or one dollar less without the drink and tortillas.
