Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Yuba City

I go to this place a lot due to convenience as it’s near Walmart/Home Depot. Service was a mixed bag, but I never felt the need to write a review good or bad until the service I received on December 8th, 2023(Date of this review) at around 5:15 p.m. I ordered a Boba Tea, with a Grilled Chicken Sandwich and fries. I called this place twice trying to get a hold of a manager in lieu of this review. First call, an employee answered but I could not understand due to static. I called again an hour later at a place with better cell reception, but no employee picked up. Note: I rarely review fast food restaurants. I recently, however gave a Rubios a 1 star review. This experience at Jack in the box was worse.

The GOOD: Employee ( Young, White female with small nose ring) who took my order/handed my food had an initial pleasant demeanor. Chicken sandwich and fries tasted “Ok” for fast food standards.

The BAD: I saw through the Drive through window a young white male (possible teen) rip open a packet with his teeth! and pour it into the Boba tea. The employee who took my order inspected the tea and asked the employee who made the tea why there was no Boba in the tea. He comes back and with BARE hands drops the Boba in the tea. The employee who took my order SAW him do that. She takes the tea and hands it to me. She had a look of fear and shock when she handed it to me. I assume because I looked angry and she knew why.

I THREW out the Boba Tea when I got home. $5.00 is not worth Covid, E. Coli etc.

I did not confront the employees as I hate drama, and I will never go there again. The reason I write this review is I hope a manager identifies the young male employee. He should not be making food or drinks. I don’t want him to lose his job, so perhaps he can be a cashier. Ultimately this is managements responsibility for lack of oversight/ training. Will Not be going there EVER again!!!

Although I greatly appreciate that Jack in the Box is open late as I find in Yuba City, most everything eating establishment closes particularly early especially compared to places being open much later in sacto area. But we went through the drive through to order a late dinner and we're told we would have to wait lat least 15 mins before she could take our order. We ended up waiting 30 mins as there were now a line of cars behind us. Whe we finally got up to pay and get our order the gal wasn't too friendly but as she handed us the food she explained she was and one other person were the only two there & the other person needed his break so she couldn't take orders since the other guy was the cook.
