I am greatly saddened and my heart is broken. I have always loved cracker barrel. But this morning you have let me and my family down. I understand you are understaffed but someone should have just told us that our table wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes. Someone needs to close down one section of that restaurant if there isn't enough staff to provide quality service to that whole restaurant. I have loved cracker barrel for as long as I can. Remember I make a point to stop there for dinner when I come back to Arizona and for breakfast whenever I'm headed out to San Diego. I drove an hour and a half, sat at that table for almost an hour to get our food, to have somebody insult me by what was placed in front of me. It arrived at our table cold. Plate was cold. Even my grits were cold. The eggs had not been fully cooked and I can see bits of raw egg when I went to eat them. While the top side of my French toast and my wife's French toast, both looked halfway okay, The bottom side of it was burnt beyond recognition. I had looked forward to stopping at cracker barrel ever since we decided to come back to San Diego for the weekend. This indeed was very upsetting and made for a lousy rest of our drive. This is still one of my favorite restaurants and we still bought many wonderful things from the country store. I hope to stop by on my way home so that you could try to instill a little faith back in me. I'll be there Sunday for dinner. Please don't let me down.

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The food was sub-par at best, sausage inedible little dog food patties, and even my girlfriend's biscuits and gravy were abandoned with her tasteless bacon. Actually, of my whole meal, only the eggs were worth anything, which is a shame as I ordered French toast and sausage. Good eggs tho. Our silverware was caked in old food when we unwrapped them, and so I grabbed the host and had him replace them. The second batch, my knife was covered in a huge glob of cheese. Our server gave up at that point and washed me a set herself. They ended up comping us the biscuits and gravy, though I'm not sure if that was intentional, so in the end it was just over $50 for three adults and a child before tip. With most of what I ordered left on my plate, and me still hungry, I should have just walked out and taken my family ANYWHERE else.

Worked as prep cook. They made me wash the mold off of the “fresh” fruit so don’t eat the fruit. They refreeze the fish continually so don’t eat the fish. They denied me my sick pay or time off when I had a medical emergency and then retaliated against me in various ways after I left. I complained to corporate through the proper channels and corporate covered for their managers. 1/10 won’t ever eat or work here again Pictured below is the report of the “investigatio” Cracker Barrel did on the basis of my complaint. You’ll notice the report is quite empty, and yes, the “investigation is closed”. I merely complained about the retaliation and not the discrimination via not letting me access my sick leave. But I am in the process of getting that complaint through to other channels. Discrimination is not cool ya know?

Update: So this is about their web system and phone in service.

I tried to order online and the system is not very friendly but with 40 years IT experience I finally got to where my purchase information was entered and ready to go when I get a system error back from their server.

I called the restaurant and they said to just go ahead and order over the phone and transfered my call. I told them I wanted it ready in 45 minutes thinking that would be more than enough time.

I got to the restaurant 5 minutes late and was told after I paid for the order it was ready but no one was available to bring it to me from the kitchen. Now I am losing patience.

5 minutes later standing in the store I used my cell phone to call the restaurant and asked for the manager. I told her what was going on and she responded apologetically and moments later my food appeared.

Once I got home I had ordered the new pot pie. While $8 seemed a little pricey for pot pie I thought they usually have products well worth the price. Much to my surprise this plate should be called chicken crusted mush. I will try to attach a picture so you can see what a let down it was.

Will never order pick up again and it will probably be some time before I step foot into a Cracker Barrel again. Sad because we used to really enjoy the place.

Our experience this Sunday not only was a disappointment but left such a bad impression that I am hesitant to ever come back. With the exception of the hostess who tried and the server (who was assigned to another table), the service of this establishment and their resolutions to issues are subpar.

We were there early enough but had to wait 2 hours before we were finally seated. We had to watch as people who came after us get seated before us, time and time again. It was very disheartening especially as we had 2 hungry children and a diabetic mother. We would have left earlier but we kept being told that we will be seated next.

When we were finally seated, we were offered a free side or a free drink which I found insulting, as if the 2 hours we waisted was worth a side and a drink. A sincere apology and a better service would have improved that nightmare but we did not even get that. The server who served us was very inattentive, they did not serve all of our orders, and the eggs I ordered had shells mixed in.

We could have let them know of the issues we kept encountering while we were still at the establishment but felt that it would have fallen on deaf ears with their lack of empathy and ability to make it right for their customers.

I can only hope that this review will serve as a learning lesson to improve the service standards...
