We'd been driving for 8 or so hours.. Being past dinner hours, we decided to stop at Shawarma Vibes due to its positive reviews.
With only two servers, we could see several parties waiting for their food upon entering the small restaurant. We only found one available spot to sit inside. The air-conditioning was blasting. Not only was it freezing inside, but my hair was literally blowing from it.
Waitress freed up and cleared two other tables. Finally, we could move to a spot where the a/c vents were not directedly hitting us. After sitting down, we pointed the server to the food and ketchup on the floor by our feet, thinking it was going to be cleaned up. It wasn't. My husband moved to sit next to me to avoid accidently stepping on it
Ordered shawarma beef wrap and fries with no salt. Asked the server what was on the fries, and she verified with the cook. Yeap, fry seasoning and salt!!! Beef shawarma also too salty. Tasting the saltiness each bite I took. Food was hard to eat, but it was late, and I was hungry. 😪 Specialty lemonade drink was too powerful in flavor. We stirred it several times, allowing the ice to melt in hopes it would taste better. My husband ordered a dinner plate that he ate. There was no mention of it being delicious.
We were happy to leave and continue on our long...
Read moreWhen this place first opened, it was exceptional, and the quality of the food has consistently been high. However, my recent experiences have been increasingly frustrating and unacceptable. Over the past few weeks, I have had no choice but to order online because every time I called, my calls were redirected to a text message instructing me to order online.
I ordered Gyro and chicken wraps, which were supposed to include pita bread, but instead, they were wrapped in tortillas. During my last online order this afternoon, as I picked up my order, I specifically asked the staff whether my wraps included pita. I was informed that I needed to specify that I wanted pita because the owner changed the policy without updating the menu. It is completely misleading that the menu states Gyro wraps come with pita and lentil soup, yet this is the second time I have received takeout missing the correct items.
I expect to receive exactly what is promised. I strongly urge the owner to address this issue immediately. I would like a response regarding how this situation will be rectified. The online menu does not reflect the recent changes, and there are no options available to choose between pita...
Read moreWhoever is handling the fryer at this place should be forced to eat their own food. We were excited to try this place despite the mixed reviews because a Shwarma restaurant in Yuma- well you just had to hope it would be OK. And my wife's shwarma was OK, if a little on the dry side. I got the labneh with pita. Labneh good, pita from a grocery supply and not warmed. Friend ordered vegetarian sampler, i ordered whole fried fish. The fried items other than French fries: pita bread, falafel and fish were fried beyond recognition (truly we had to ask what turned out to be fried pita chips were). The falafel had they consistency of hard tack. The flesh of the fish had mostly fused to its ossifried (tm) skeleton. Home made non alcoholic drinks were fantastic. The rice was very good. Our waiter was great, but after we paid the bill and left we noticed we had been charged an additional $4 per food item. This is a price transparency issue noted by others. So we were overcharged. But the food orders (except the fish) were generous. But much of the food was not great or even good. I would consider returning for shwarma, rice and drinks, but would verify pricing at...
