Walked in the doors and it was relatively busy, waited about 15 minutes for someone to come to us to ask if we had been helped yet. Never got greeted, just was told where we were sitting. Got to the table and most of our party ordered food but one person couldn’t figure out what he wanted and the server would come back a few seconds later and he came back 4-5 times and he was very noticeably irritated it took so long. And someone ordered a deluxe burrito asked them not to have refried beans, and they brought one with them and just seemed as if he could of been somewhere else better to be. And someone orders wings and asked for barbecue and they brought him mild and he is very sensitive to heat and it took everyone else finishing their food before he got his correct wings. I got a seafood quesadilla and it clearly says shrimp and crab. And I was very surprised when it came with imitation crab that is sold at Walmart. Even canned crab would of been better than getting served fish made to look like crab. I could tell it was imitation crab because most of it was long strips of it and it had the very distinct false coloring and fishy taste than a shellfish taste. If they’re gonna have a shrimp and crab quesadilla then give people real crab inside of that garbage. I get you can’t get fresh crab but canned or frozen would be better than fake crab. If they can figure they’re stuff out I’ll try it again but I’ll stick...
Read moreWe are repeat diners at Tlaquepaque and our experience has been positive nearly every time. The owners have brought an incredibly authentic menu of Mexican fare to Zanesville. You can expect to find the staples that you are accustomed to seeing at Mexican eateries, but you should also treat yourself and try some of the truly traditional offerings. A highlight is the Chile Relleno, a cheese-stuffed chili that has been fire roasted.
While we can talk about the selection of food, it is important that I mention the absolute quality of the meals. I have heard it said that “Mexican restaurants all have the same thing”. While it is true the dishes comprise many of the same components, the excellence of the food sets them apart. It is apparent that the owners take this as a point of pride. Each meal comes with, what I consider to be, the best salsa around and a basket of house-made tortilla chips. Another recommended appetizer to kick off the meal is Queso Fundito – a blend of warm melted cheese loaded with spicy chorizo. The steak, chicken, or combo fajitas are second to none. For us, they are the best that you can get and come recommended!
The restaurant is always impeccably clean when we visit, and the wait staff and owners are hard-working and genuinely happy to have you there. All of these combine to make Tlaquepaque our favorite Latin food “go to”. ¡Disfrute...
Read moreThe food was good. We had a reservation. It was written in their chart-we saw it when we walked in, but i dont feel like they listened when i told them we had reservations. The server made us feel rushed. My order (sopipilla) had the option of small or regular. She didn't even bother to ask me what size I wanted, much less give me time to tell her my order in the first place. She brought my fiances food out first, then went back to the kitchen. We assumed it was to get mine. Nope. She brought out another tables food, and then I got mine several minutes later. By the time I got mine he was almost done with his (I told him to go ahead and eat so it didn't get cold). Mine was cold by the time I got it. It also cold enough you could tell it had been done and waiting a while before she brought it out, which means she purposely left it when she grabbed the other plates. She rarely checked on us while we were there. I know she had a few tables, but I observed her going into the drink dispense area or kitchen area and she wouldnt come out for several minutes. We actually had to ask another server to tell her we were needing our check. I also observed from my seat a gallon size sunny d bottle with what looked to still be sunny d in it on the shelf in the drink dispense area right next to jugs of chemicals. Pretty sure...
