We recently had lunch here and like other reviewers stated, the food is fantastic! My hubby had a greek salad w/soup of the day and I enjoyed a "Hannah" on a croissant. We even got a HUGE coconut cookie to go for later. Service was great here. I would have gave them 5 stars; however, we noticed on our bill that there was a "checkout fee". We did not see anything about this on the menu or posted in the restaurant. If this was a fee for using our credit card to pay, I wish our server would have made us aware of this charge in which case I would have paid cash. I hope management answers this as to what this fee is actually for. Is it a "covid upcharge" for PSE? We are clueless to what this was for. Again, if it was because we paid by credit card, customers should ALWAYS be made aware of this. So many businesses are now adding "fees" that are unknown until the bill comes to take advantage of this opportunity to scam people out of money. That is just NOT cool.
Reply to owner 04.07.2022: No where in my review did I refer to your establishment as "scammers". Quite the contrary, I gave you 4 stars because of your excellent food. If I was extremely upset over the additional fee I would have gave you only 1 or 2 stars max. What I did say, we came in the front door; we did not notice anything posted. We noticed the amazingly tempting cookies at the cash register, but no sign about charge to use credit cards (that could have been overlooked by my drooling over the cookies, which we did purchase by the way). However, as we were new to your establishment, the server should have been kind enough to tell us there is an additional charge to use a card when I handed it to her (as should all your servers be trained), at which point I would have paid in cash.
And I am correct that more and more businesses are adding "unknown" fees to their products/services and consumers need to be made aware and watch for this. Kindness...
Read moreSO CHARMING! Small town quaintness. Recently stopped in here for a late lunch, following an appt in this sweet little Town. This place is so charming and the food delicious. Overall presentation of the restaurant set in an old two-story house comfortable seating, spread out and the plating of the food Wonderful! I had the quiche of the day, which included fruit, very nice assortment and a side salad with homemade dressing. Great portion sizes. At the front of the restaurant where the hostess greets is a covered dish with the baked good of the day and I’m so glad I grabbed one on my way out! It was a large fresh, absolutely delicious, homemade chocolate chip cookie, almost wished I had grabbed two lol I live in North Tampa, so this spot unfortunately is not located near me, but as free time allows down the road weekdays I would love to return for another...
Read moreTina and Joe's Cafe was a cute little place! The food was delicious! I had the lobster roll and it was one of the best I've ever had! What keeps this place from 5 stars was the awkward experience we had here to bookend it! We were a party of 4 and they originally tried to sit us at a 2 top. This required us to stand awkwardly in the corner for 5 more minutes till a bigger table was cleaned. Due to the short staffing we had multiple people serving us which was fine but when it came to payment one person took one of our credit cards while the other told us to pay up front. We migrated to the ground of the building and waited to pay but the front room was so small that there wasn't any room to move due to other customers waiting for a table. Overall this is a great spot for lunch and we...
