2nd update….. been here 20 plus times. 1st is below. Food is consistent. Would like more flavor my Vietnamese friend makes the most delicious food. Not sure why so different. However I can say Saigon has very healthy food. (Bland reason?) I raised there Stars They don’t use the heat in the winter. Dress warm or you will freeze all concrete building. They keep it very cold in the summer. I’m not normally subdued either way. This winter got me! But if you are.
Original review… was 2 stars. I’ve been here twice now. Both times experience was the same. I ordered differently each time to try this place out. Very clean place and friendly staff. Boba is great! However the food is exceptionally BLAND. I don’t understand this. The dishes look fantastic! Just no flavor at all. I find this a little crazy. Because I ordered seafood dishes. I think it is over boiling everything. I’m am not sure. I even ask the waitress. There is other reviews about this. The summer rolls are fantastic looking and good to eat. Still lack flavor. Wife had the pork chop this time. And that had some flavor. I really want this place to succeed and I am going back one last time., I would love to support you guys if you pull it together. . Saigon it seems you have overly Americanized your food in a bad way. Maybe the snowbirds complain too much? Please fix this or I’m forced somewhere else. Such a nice place and ruin it by very very bland food. This...
Read moreI’ve been here a few other times but this time was not it. Maybe they were having a off night but the overall experience was not pleasing. I order dumplings, papaya salad and two pho dishes. I ordered over the phone and was told it’ll be ready in 20 minutes. We got there in less than 20 minutes. Walked up to the counter and told the owner or manager the name of the order. She waved us off and said give me a minute and we continued standing near the counter for 4 minutes while she was cashing out her receipts. As we stood there, we noticed 3 to-go bags sitting on the shelf next to her. The lady walked to the back of the kitchen as we stood their for another minute or two when someone else came out and handed our food- the bags that were sitting on the shelf near the counter. Displeased that we were ignored and so was our food- we paid and left. When we got home, all of our food was cold to say the least, from the dumplings to the pho broth. Then I opened my papaya salad and well, stunned at how distasteful it looked and tasted for an $8.45 dish. To add, something minor but noticeable— The plastic ware specially the spoons they gave us were dusty. Literally dusty. I am a foodie and I don’t mind paying for what I get but I at least like to enjoy what I get and the...
Read moreFirst and foremost the food is delicious! We first had the spring rolls for an appetizer. They were sizable and very fresh tasting. Also our waitress brought them out in about a couple minutes after we ordered. Our main course came out shortly after. We had the spicy beef pho and the grilled pork noodle bowl. Both dishes were amazing. I've tried a lot of pho and ramen and Saigon Cafe's pho makes the top of my list. I also like a lot of spice and they were also able to deliver on that. Most places will make the dish slightly spicy when I ask for extra hot but not Sigon Cafe. They made it amply spicy. Don't worry if you don't like it too spicy because they will make it to fit your pallet. We also both had hot and iced tea which was very tasty too. The staff is very friendly and our waitress was great. She checked on us numerous times and made sure we had fresh tea. The final bill was very reasonable at around $35 for all of this food and drinks. We had plenty of leftover food to take home. The portions are very gracious at Saigon Cafe. Needless to say we will be returning here many more times. I highly recommend that you stop by for a bite to eat at Saigon Cafe. Thank you for the great food and very pleasant experience overall. We will...
