I'm a waitress myself, and for the first time in my adult life, my experience was so awful I actually stiffed my server. Here's why; My fiance' and I love Village Inn, we frequently visit the Land O' Lakes location. Tonight in Zephyrhills, our server, Emma or Emily (something like that,) wasn't even slightly friendly or personable. I don't believe she spoke more than 30 words our whole visit. She didn't even attempt to hide the fact that she hates her job. I could hear her in the kitchen talking to a cook about the grits not being any good. But when the cook told her he didn't have another pan made up, she proceeded to serve them to me anyway. They were lumpy, rubbery, and awful. Our Pepsi was flat, so we asked for sweet tea, she left the old cups on the table. I never asked for lemon, yet she put one in it and even after removing it, I sucked up a seed. We were as friendly to her as could be, and didn't complain, I assumed maybe she was having a bad shift. Long story short, the food was terrible, but we ate it and didn't complain. It took us until the end of our meal, that we ate very slow I might add, to get a refill. Again old glasses were left. As we paid, the girl flately asked us how everything was, I told her that it was okay, but my grits had lumps all in them, but that it wasn't a big deal, I ate all of the rest. She didn't say anything other than my total, took my money slammed the register shut and started talking to another employee about a new cell phone. Why ask if you don't care? The whole experience was subpar...
Read moreNot terrible food but NOT THAT GREAT! RUDE management! I have been there THREE times with my very small service dog, first stop was ok, food was so-so. Second was not able to taste the food because the manager stood over me and yelled that I was NOT allowed to hold my very small service dog I had to put her on the floor! I spoke to the manager/owner after making a complaint online. He apologized and told me to come in for a FREE meal since we didn't get to eat our meal at our visit. I had already gotten in touch with the state agency that regulates service animals and she stated that I COULD hold my dog but I could not feed her at the restaurant. NOTHING was in the rules/laws stating that the dog MUST be placed on the floor! THIRD visit we, my husband and I took my sister-in-law and nephew for a meal, AGAIN the female manager, whom the male manager said he was going to demote, stood over me with a stack of papers and yelled so everyone in the restaurant could hear, stated that the DOG had to be put on the FLOOR! I complained again online, got a response from "corporate", NO RESPONSE from the Owner/Manager of the restaurant1 I again complained online and "corporate" stated they have no control over the "franchisee"! Since this visit we have not again tried to visit and never will visit the restaurant but have recommended to file suit by a...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped by this place for the first time a couple days ago! The only disappointment that we had was that we didn't go sooner. They were very clean, the environment had a cute little old school diner vibe and we were seated promptly.
Our server was Emily and she was so amazing you'd never know that she was new. She was so sweet and friendly and she was very efficient. My boyfriend and I go out to eat frequently and she was the best server we have had in a very long time. She offered the promotions, answered all of our questions and even told us about FREE PIE WEDNESDAY'S! To top it off, the manager was out there cleaning tables too, (which earned even more respect) so that we could tell her how amazing Emily was.
As for the food, the prices are great. We both had meals, added extra sides and the bill never passed $30. It got to our table quickly and still warm. The good was good, pancakes could use a little more fluff, but everything else made up for it. Portions were perfect. They have that huge selection of pies, all looking amazing, so we decided to take one home. 8.99 for an entire coconut cream pie!
We will definitely be returning, hopefully on a regular basis. Definitely on a Wednesday and we're definitely...
