Rosie's Place has a charming quaint vibe and the food is fairly average with similar places, however be forewarned if there's anything wrong with your food, as a policy, they'll refuse to take it back or offer to remove it from the bill. So read the descriptions carefully and if you have any doubts, just don't order anything that isn't your basics. Read below for details:
I made the mistake of ordering a dish with fresh rosemary in it, which I normally enjoy. It completely overwhelmed the food rather than just be a complementary flavor. I honestly couldn't eat it since it tasted like I was eating a bush. When I asked if it could be remade without the rosemary or if I could order something else instead, the server said whatever else I wanted would not be a substitute but in addition to the cost of what I originally ordered.
I talked to a manager, and she too pushed back stating their food has pre-portioned elements so the kitchen doesn't make mistakes and pointed out the meal description had rosemary in it. I agreed, and at this point I was embarrassed just asking for food I could eat was turning into such an ordeal. I resigned and agreed to not order anything else while my party finished their meals.
After about 10 minutes later the manager returned again saying she'd remove the uneaten rosemary dish, stressing this was an exception. I thanked her and accepted her offer, but the damage was done. I just can't return here if, as a policy, this is how they treat their customers. Especially if they don't explicitly mention anywhere to choose carefully as they will not remake dishes if they're...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I attend Rosie's Place every Sunday after church. Today my boyfriend decided to order one of their specials, the "Southwest Benny". When it arrived it looked very unappetizing. Specifically it looked like throw up on a plate. My boyfriend tried to get over his order's initial unappetizing appearance and took a bite. Unfortunately, the southwest benny tasted as bad as it looked. The waitress came by and he shared that he could not eat it. The waitress got the manager. The manager came and asked why my boyfriend did not like the special. My boyfriend shared his reasons with her. The manager then explained that this was how Rosie's Place makes the special and that she would be willing to box it up for later. Basically the manager was unwilling to remove the dish off our bill and offer my boyfriend the chance to order a dish he likes. My boyfriend did order another dish and we were charged for all 3 entrees. As I mentioned before, we go to Rosie's place every week. It is disappointing and disheartening that Rosie's place's management was unwilling to address and fix our customer experience. We will not be back. For $12.93 Rosie's place has lost a weekly customer and any referrals to...
Read moreFirst impression of this place was good. Spacious and bright environment, staff uniform shirts were funny. Our waitress however changed our view of the place almost immediately, instead of introducing herself as our waitress, she hastily walked up to our table and directly asked us if we knew what we wanted. The menu didn't state the soda choices so I asked and she in return said soda and points at the menu as if there were a list there. The place wasn't extremely busy while we were there but we still rarely saw her if we needed something. She did keep our drinks refilled but she left just as quickly as she'd come without waiting long enough for us to ask for something if needed. My food was very bland as the pork tenderloin I ordered looked like a half overcooked chicken breast sandwich which had two pieces on it. We live in the land of the tenderloin and I was extremely disappointed as I was barely able to eat it because the sandwich was so thick. My boyfriend had the pulled pork and he was definitely underwhelmed by how it tasted. It was moist which was good, but the flavor was lacking. We love dining in small non-chain businesses but this will definitely not be one we...
