😡😠If I could give less than one star for this Hotel I would. How dare they advertise themselves as 4 stars 😠 and Bookings.com need to do some proper fact checking before advertising it as such. My husband and I have absolutely no problem with hotels that are older buildings and can have small bedrooms. It's par for the course in many big cities. We are not fussy complainers, and don't expect luxury for the price bracket we can afford. Once the room is clean, and has a decent bed, then that's fine, not a problem,,,, BUT,,, when a hotel has the cheek to put paying guests into what we got, then we have a problem!! I have never had to write a bad review before , as thankfully, we have always been more than pleased with our accomodations. We were only in Montevideo ( a most lovely city) for 2 nights, so thankfully didn't have to suffer the room for longer. Since staying there, I've now read other complaints about the pathetic size, the lack of maintenance and lack of overall cleanliness, so it's not like the hotel management haven't been made aware of this issue. When a room is so narrow you literally can't roll your suitcase between the end of the bed and the wall, then it's TOO SMALL!!! My husband had to lift his suitcase over the bed, and climb across each time, as the TV wires are hanging out and could easily be pulled. It's just plain bad management on their behalf that it's not addressed, and I don't want any false apologies. DO YOUR JOB, go around to the rooms and make sure they're being cleaned to an acceptable level. And until you've done that, stop taking peoples hard earned money, and putting them into rooms that are not up...
Read moreNice and modern reception area; however the hotel is in an old area. The hotel itself is a renovated old building with orignal wood floors in the rooms. The rooms are ok, not super clean or fancy. The bedding could use serious improvement. The sheets were so thin I could clearly make out the mattress designs, and to top it off the fitted sheet was stained and had little holes. They need mattress covers! The bathrooms were a bit more modern, but the design was such that water goes all over the floor and generates mold down the side of the tub. There was no free bottled water, only one in the room mini bar that wasn't refilled the next day. The hotel front desk staff was less than attentive and not very helpful. Everything we asked for they couldn't assist with, including getting bottled water, which happens to be locked in fridge in the small reception room. Parking is limited to very small cars. The buffet breakfast was good; they had lots of breads, scrambled eggs and bacon but the coffee was terrible. I think it was the water that gave it the bad taste and smell. We didn't use the pool, but it looked...
Read moreWorse experience ! We arrived early and were told check-on could not be done before 3pm without even checking if the room was ready. At 2:45 we returned and we got the same answer. The towels were so old they were falling to pieces. There were stains on the sheets. The hairdryer didnt work. This happens but when we told the reception all we got was: we are sorry. When we asked for water, they said: 3 dollars. And the worst was to find that the bag label used for our bag was AN OLD PASSPORT COPY of a previous guest. And the answer to this was: we are sorry. When finally we asked for a late check-out because I was not feeling well (only like 20minutes) they told us to pay 38 dollars. This is not a 4 star hotel especially due to the bad services provided. The hotel is badly maintained and all is about money. Please go elsewhere, Uruguayans are so welcoming don’t waste your...
