Nestled in the My An district near the beach, Maruten offers a relaxed, upscale Japanese dining atmosphere—ideal for date nights or slow dinners.
Food Quality • Fresh sushi & sashimi: Multiple diners praise the freshness of the fish and the true-to-Japanese flavor of the soba. One review notes: “Sushi tươi ngon, soba đậm đà, đúng chuẩn vị Nhật Bản”. • Favorite dishes: Many highlight nigiri and sashimi as the stronger items versus rolls, and the Kisu tempura gets a special shout-out: “lớp vỏ bột giòn tan… thịt săn ngọt bên trong”.
Generally friendly, accommodating staff who speak decent English and are attentive—Trip.com describes them as “very friendly and helping”. However, some TripAdvisor reviews mention inconsistent service—particularly food arriving late or not at all:
“food… was very tasty but sadly the large majority of the food never arrived” Another reviewer experienced staggered delivery: “The place was empty and food was served in the next 15 min for one person and the food of my partner arrived 25 min later”.
• Ideal for special occasions: Romantic, calm setting with quality sushi and traditional dishes. • Mixed service consistency: Execution varies—most customers get great food and friendly service, but a few run into delays or missing items.
• Fresh, authentic sushi and soba with artful presentation • Warm, relaxed ambiance—great for a date or small group • Generally friendly, English‑speaking staff • Occasional service missteps: late/missing dishes, especially during quieter lunch hours • Few dishes like wine selection receive mixed reviews (e.g., white wine wasn’t as praised as food). If you’re seeking a refined sushi experience in Đà Nẵng, Maruten is worth a visit—especially for nigiri, sashimi, and well-executed tempura. To ensure a smooth experience, consider dining during regular high‑traffic times and confirm the full order on arrival.
• Best dishes: Stick with sashimi, nigiri, and tempura specialties like Kisu. • Timing matters: Peak dinner hours tend to run smoother compared to quieter periods. • Reservations: They accept bookings, which may help avoid...
Read moreOK, I've no idea why the reviews are so high. Ambience of the place is nice indeed, the stuff is friendly and welcoming. But that's it.
Their food was simply at OK level. Pretty much any other sushi place in Da Nang that I've been to had a similar or better quality to their food and at the same time every other place I visited was cheaper than this one. Spicy salmon roll that I ordered was lacking flavor which is really odd for a "spicy" roll.
And the very disappointing thing for me happened at the very beginning when they served us two glasses of white wine that we've ordered: each glass had just a little bit off wine on the bottom. When I asked if this was the normal amount they usually serve - the waiter responded that yes that's the exact amount they serve which is 50 mL!!! 50 mL is a shot, not a glass of wine. After pointing that out she said they'll top up the wine without increasing the price, so she took the glasses and came back with maybe about 100 mL in a glass which is still much less than a standard. While I appreciate that the waiter tried to resolve the situation and was very friendly and understanding, I find it frustrating that they treat customers like that at the ground level of the...
Read more5 star for this sushi joint is a major reach and makes me believe I’ve been catfished (5star design). I’ve had some great sushi all around Danang and thought this place was going to be amazing due to the high ratings. Boy was I wrong! Food did not taste fresh. I ordered the soba w. Tempura, 2x hand rolls, and an order of the Uni sushi. I usually order a lot more as I go but not this time. Soba sauce is served in a tiny teacup and at room temp, the noodles weren’t chewy at all just mush in your mouth. Hand roll seaweed was tough, stale, and soggy looked like a limp... Uni was horribly prepared very milky and broken apart like a slush, no resemblance to the image on the menu. I do have to say the servers were very kind and professional, but I’ve noticed the manager being rude to the workers and making unkind remarks of other customers with a smirk and very distasteful tone as she sat in her little hut. Making me believe the whole ambience of the place goes to waste when you have someone like that around. I left without finishing my food and resorted to other restaurants near by. I do feel sorry to the servers as I usually love tipping after every meal but I really couldn’t wait to just pay the...
