I stumbled across this quan while looking for another one.
The place was clean and airy, with full-size tables and chairs inside, and full-size tables woth bench seats outside.
Iordered the Mì Quảng Tôm Thịt. My favorite part was that they remove the bones from the chicken before making the dish, which is not always the case. The broth had okay flavor, but had a much milder flavor than other Mì Quảng I've had in Da Nang. The dish comes with the standard basket of herb leaves, lettuce, and bean sprouts, as well as lime and fresh chilies. They also provide some spices shrimp satay chili sauce on the side. However, there was no fish sauce on the table, nor the pickled onions and carrots that most other establishments offer. There was just Chin Su Chili Sauce and soy sauce. The price is also a bit higher (40k vnd) than other establishments, even in An Thương. Really, the flavor of the food and the lack of traditional add-ons, fish sauce being the most important, are the reasons for my 3-star rating; the flavors were just very bland in this dish.
I didn't try any of the other dishes, of which there are too many to count. Overall, the prices for most dishes don't look bad, but some, like mì quảng and bánh mì, are nearly double of other local establishments. The photos of the BBQ, hot pot, and other local dishes look tasty. There are also some...
Read moreA restaurant in Vietnam with a large menu is never a good sign. I was correct in my assessment.
I decided to give these guys a try because I always pass them. My advice: keep walking.
Cleanliness is a bit of a miss (several dirty forks and spoons before I found one that was passable) and the owners don’t even care to restock cutlery, so you will have to go on a hunt for utensils (-1 point).
Not sure what it is about the older generation who switch off their brains when dealing with foreigners. I asked for bò né with 3 op la, ba trung, and she still didn’t get the order, just sent the regular dish and then tried to compensate with three pieces of banh mi. (-1 point)
I had to re-request for the additional eggs and even show them a photo of eggs because if obviously they don’t understand Vietnamese there (-1 point)
Upon delivery of the food, appearance was not really to my liking, and decided not to eat the food based on quality.
Instead, I went down the street for an unusually amazing meal elsewhere. I paid the bill without eating a single bite. (Neutral)
There are so many incredible places to eat in Danang, this is not one of them. Would I come back? No, never. I...
