I had the pleasure of staying at Cicilia Hotel for almost three months, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the warmth and hospitality from the entire team made me feel like I was at home. I’d like to take a moment to highlight some special people and aspects that made my stay extraordinary.
🥰 Lucy - A True Lifesaver
I would like to begin by giving a heartfelt thank you to Lucy, who was an absolute star throughout my entire stay. Whether it was assisting me with a malfunctioning mini-bar, helping me with room changes, or even going above and beyond when I became ill and needed to move rooms, Lucy was always there with a kind word and efficient solution. Her genuine care and attentiveness made all the difference. Without her support, my stay would have been much more challenging, and I cannot express my gratitude enough.
💕 Hana - Booking Made Easy
A huge thank you to Hana as well, who helped me with all my booking needs. Whether I needed to extend my stay, shorten it, or rebook my room for any reason, Hana was always ready and willing to assist, making the whole process seamless. It was such a relief knowing that I could rely on her for anything related to my reservations.
🤍 Exceptional Service from the Staff
The food at Cicilia Hotel was nothing short of amazing — always fresh, full of options, and so delicious. The breakfast was particularly impressive, offering a wide variety of choices, and every meal was a treat. And speaking of treats, I want to give special thanks to Hera and the restaurant team for making my birthday so special. Hera was incredibly sweet and surprised me with a beautiful cake — a gesture I will never forget.
The entire team at Cicilia, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping team, was incredibly attentive. The housekeeping was top-notch — I stayed in five different rooms during my time at the hotel, and all of them were spotless, well-maintained, and comfortable.
I also want to mention the team of porters who greeted me at the entrance each time I returned to the hotel. They were some of the kindest and most welcoming people I’ve met. They always made me feel so appreciated, and their warm smiles helped start my day on the right foot.
🥺 A Small Area for Improvement
If I were to mention a small downside, it would be the language barrier at the reception. Aside from Lucy, who spoke excellent English, I found that most of the reception staff had limited proficiency in English. While this didn’t cause any major issues, it did make communication a bit challenging at times. However, Lucy was always there to help bridge the gap, and her assistance truly made the difference.
🌟 In Conclusion
All in all, my time at Cicilia Hotel was a memorable one. The kindness, professionalism, and warmth of the staff made my long stay in Da Nang feel like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Whether you're here for a short stay or a long-term visit, you'll be treated with the utmost care. Thank you, Cicilia Hotel, for such a wonderful experience. I will cherish the memories and look forward to returning...
Read morePretty lobby makes a good first impression. Welcome drinks served. Family room is spacious as it can fit a family of 4 (2A + 2C) and comes with a bathtub. However, there is no standing shower area so all will have to climb into the big tub and shower. Not ideal for old folks. Bedroom floor tiles are slippery when wet. Upon check-in, counter staff told us that our rooms are in the new wing. However, one can tell this is untrue as the exteriors of our building look old and dirty, compared to the building (where the lobby and swimming pool are) which obviously looks newer. No beach views for all of our rooms, with one even facing the wall of the building opposite! Disappointingly, the corridor and rooms reeked of mould!!! It is very obvious once you exit the lift to the corridor/once you enter the rooms for the first time after returning from outside. Staff opened our window to air the room after housekeeping. You can see signs of mould from the top area of the main door which is not wiped that often and from the black stains at the bottom of the wallpapers in the room. I have the impression that the wallpapers were overlayed onto mouldy walls as it's obvious the mould are growing out already. Breakfast selection is good and tasty. What is worst that ended our stay on a bad note is that the Hotel seemed to be focused on petty gains from unsuspecting guests. What startled us is that we get the same sentiments from the 1/2-star reviews here! We loaned 2 umbrellas from the Hotel (since it rained the night before) when we were going out for massage sessions just opposite the road around 10+pm on our last night. The porter merely passed me the umbrellas and asked me to sign out. He did not ask me to check the condition prior. However, since it didn't rain that night, we didn't use them at all. It was quite late when we went back to the Hotel so we only returned the umbrellas the next morning during check-out. We were already exiting the hotel when the porter (different guy) signalled me to go back to see a badly damaged umbrella. The damage is only visible when you open up the umbrella. From the level of damage, one can't even use the umbrella at all but it is only obvious IF you tried to open it. I explained that it wasn't raining the night before so we didn't use it at all. He can check the time we signed out from his records. But he didn't bother to listen, instead he went to our local guide and asked for payment. They went to speak to the receptionist with someone who seemed to be of managerial level but no staff bothered to speak to us directly and hear us out. Instead, they keep throwing glances at our group, making me feel uncomfortable like we did something wrong. Our local guide helped us settle the matter in the end and we did not have to pay anything (which I also refused to do so since we did not use the umbrellas). I strongly believe the Hotel is not keen on maintaining relationship for returning customers. Ok, first and last stay here at Cecilia, it is!
I'm concerned that is a common tactic by the Hotel to earn petty gains from unsuspecting guests, hence the reason for this lengthy...
Read moreStepping into Cicilia Hotel & Spa, we were immediately welcomed with a refreshing cold tea, setting the tone for a smooth and hassle-free check-in. The staff at the front desk were fantastic warm, accommodating, and genuinely eager to make sure we had a comfortable stay.
The Room Cozy but Cramped: Our king-bed room was clean, but space was tight. It had the basics: a desk, a spot for luggage, and powerful air conditioning (a must in Da Nang’s heat). But the fridge? A total letdown. It barely kept our drinks cool, let alone chilled. A coffee table or even a small sitting area would have made a difference without it, there wasn’t much space to just sit back and enjoy the view. The bathroom was functional but small not much counter space for toiletries, but the towels were fresh, and the hot water was plentiful.
The Breakfast – The True Star of the Hotel: Now, this is where Cicilia shines. The breakfast spread had a mix of Western and Vietnamese dishes. You could start with spaghetti in tomato sauce, sausages, and crispy bacon, or head over to the bread station with a selection of fresh-baked bread, toasters, cheeses, and cold cuts. Fresh fruits like pineapple and dragon fruit were a great touch. For those who love a hearty, comforting bowl of soup, the noodle bar was a winner rotating daily between Pho, Hong Kong-style noodles, and other Vietnamese favorites. Right next to it, the omelet station whipped up eggs cooked to order, and they did a killer sunny side up perfectly runny, just how I like it, drizzled with a bit of soy sauce.
The coffee station, however, was a bit of a letdown. It leaned towards weak, American-style drip coffee, rather than the bold, intense Vietnamese phin brew. That said, they had hot, fresh milk, which was a nice surprise perfect for those who prefer their coffee creamy and piping hot. The only downside? The coffee station was a bottleneck guests swarmed around it like ants to sugar, making the wait frustrating. A second coffee station would be a game changer.
Service – The People Make the Difference: Beyond the food, the breakfast staff were absolute rockstars. The hostess on Wednesday morning was especially fantastic attentive, cheerful, and making sure every guest was comfortable. Plates were cleared swiftly, and the service was seamless. Thursday morning’s team kept up the same level of hospitality, making breakfast not just a meal, but an experience.
Final Verdict Cicilia Hotel & Spa does a lot of things right—friendly staff, strong AC, and a breakfast spread that keeps you coming back for seconds. But it’s not without its flaws small rooms, an underwhelming fridge, and a coffee setup that needs improvement. Still, for a short stay, it’s a solid choice in Da Nang, especially if you’re a breakfast enthusiast. Would I stay again? For that omelet and Pho...
