Family-Friendly Dining at Vietnam Daily Cuisine Restaurant – A Pleasant Surprise in Da Nang
On May 13th, I had a chance to have dinner with my whole family at Vietnam Daily Cuisine Restaurant, located at 10 An Thượng 29, Da Nang. It turned out to be one of those places you randomly find but end up remembering for all the right reasons.
We were a group of several generations – my parents, siblings, and our kids – so finding a place that suits everyone's taste isn’t always easy. But here, the food was genuinely delicious and suited all of us. The flavors were well-balanced and very true to Vietnamese home-style cooking, which we all appreciated.
What stood out to me was how clean and organized the restaurant was, both the dining area and the kitchen (which we caught a glimpse of). It gave us a lot of confidence, especially since we had young kids with us.
Prices were quite affordable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality of the dishes. It didn’t feel overpriced or touristy at all, which can sometimes be the case in popular areas.
The staff were friendly without being overly formal, and they were quick to respond when we needed anything. Even with a large group, the service was smooth and pleasant.
The restaurant has a calm and nicely decorated space—simple, but tasteful. It made for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a proper meal. Another bonus: it’s just a 3-minute walk from the beach, so it’s perfect if you want to grab a good meal before or after spending time by the sea.
The location was easy to find, tucked on a quiet street but very convenient.
Overall, it wasn’t just about the food, but the whole experience—a relaxed family dinner where everyone left full and happy. If you're in Da Nang and want something authentic, clean, and reasonably priced, this spot is definitely...

Phú Thao Tiền Trúc
After two and a half months in DaNang, quite a few visits to VDC and some conversations exchanged, I feel like I got to know you a little bit better. And, I am happy that this was the restaurant (and will always be) where I first tried Vietnamese food 🙏🏻
It's been only a week since I left and it feels like a life time away when I was there enjoying what became one of my favourite dishes (bún chả) in one of my favourite restaurants 🙏🏻
While DaNang isn't short for food options, ranging in price and quality of food, I feel like VDC is one of the few places that struck an almost perfect balance between variety and quality of dishes, prices, restaurant atmosphere and quality of service. Interestingly enough, although this was one of the places that I visited the most while there, it was the ONLY one where I never encountered any issues with the order. Be it getting the order wrong, overcharging, forgetting about the order (yup that happened more than once in other places) or simply taking forever to bring the food.
Here, I always felt like the quality of the food and the service were a constant. Unlike some other places where the perfect rating on Maps, there are no such concerns at VDC.
Thank you again to Phú, Thao, Tiền & Trúc - I'll miss your smiles 🫶🏻
And a thank you to ALL the other staff that make VDC the special place that it is.
In a cutthroat industry, I honestly hope that you can succeed and remain open for years to come. And, I hope to see you when I hopefully come back next year.
❤️
P.S. I'm waiting for...
Read moreDespite staying just down the street, I delayed visiting VDC primarily because there wasn't a full menu available on here for preview. Too bad for me, as after visiting last night, I would love to come here again and again. The food was delicious and many of the items seem quite unique as compared to other restaurants. I don't know traditional Vietnamese cuisine, though my impression is that this restaurant is offering Vietnamese dishes that go beyond the fairly common rice noodles with spring rolls that are common elsewhere.
I had the sweet and sour soup with pork. It's a huge bowl and is likely best shared between multiple people. It's a bit much of one flavour profile for one meal for one person. That's one downside of traveling solo, you often need to eat a big portion of one thing instead of sampling many. They did pack up the rest of my soup to take back to my apartment with me and I got some super tasty chicken wings with fish sauce to round out my meal.
This place gets a strong recommend, not just on the flavour and variety and quality of their food, but also on the very pleasant ambience, and especially for the top-shelf service. It was a joy to finally eat here and it's too bad for me that I didn't try it sooner in my visit.
To the owner who might read this, I recommend adding you full menu as a link from Maps (perhaps as a Drive link, as some other restaurants do) for weirdos like me that like to survey a full menu before choosing...
