Just came here for the first time and found it because of the review of someone.
The review score is very high, so I'm very excited to try it, and when we arrived there the moody guy point us and then point to the table downstairs. We decided to take a table at second floor the he just swing his hand like go go go, go to the up stair!
When we order we want to try the other menu rather than the seafood menus, so I want to test the chef skill then, start with the egg fried rice, this is a simple dish but it's hard to cook it nice, then the stir fried morning glory, and the tomato eggs, all of the menus here if not cook well this mean the chefs are not good enough when compared to the big and expensive restaurant like this. Then we are going to select a live seafood ingredients downstair, they have a lot species here, fish, crab, seashells, prawn, etc. The lady staff inching went directly to us and got our order and also a lot of others, we decided to take a sea grouper and she recommended to do a boiled cook with the soy sauce and we select a tiger prawn then she came to suggest to cook in grilled, staff 3/5 stars.
The menus came in one by one and we got the stir fried morning glory first then the egg fried rice.
The stir fried morning glory is not my style the way they're prepared the veggie and cut it to long a test was salty a little bit sweet not have a major thing which is the fragrance of wok, 3/5 stars, then a fried rice coming, then same thing the wok skill is not there yet the taste is salty rice is too hard 3/5 stars. The eggs tomato is next serve, it's completely 2 of 5 I don't know how to explain it, and it's 3/5, it's not that bad but when compared to it's price then . . . Finally our seafood that we expected are served! The tiger prawn are over grilled so it's not juicy and dry and too firm, so it's 3/5 stars, the steam sea grouper with soy sauce, again it's over cooked then when the boiled soy sauce was pour over it then it's completely over. cooked, the soy sauce tast got 4/5 stars but the overcooked fish bring it down...
Read moreWhile my husband and FIL were choosing the seafood downstairs, we brought the children up to sit first. Once we sat down, the server (who understands zero English and has such a bad and dismissive/cant-be-bothered attitude) asked me for our seafood order. I tried to explain that my husband was still choosing downstairs. She then asked for the same thing from my MIL, totally ignoring what I said. My MIL repeated it. She replied ok. My MIL left the table and my helper sat down. She came over to ask my helper for the seafood bill again, totally ignoring what we told her just less than five minutes ago. It's either that's her only job or as though she was afraid that we would not be ordering any seafood. If she did not understand us, she could have said or gestured something but she stubbornly insisted on repeating her request to three different people from the same group. The food was served very quickly but were cooked in very simple bland styles. I'm not sure if it's cos I had a very good dinner at Madame Lan the prev night where there were so many different sauces for different foods. If this is the first restaurant you eat at Danang, it'd be a very disappointing meal and you'd wonder if Vietnamese food is all cooked like that. I also cannot verify if they used the same seafood you picked from the tanks. Our bill came out to be about SGD$330. Another server sensed our heightened suspicion and initiated going through the bill with us item by item since it was in Vietnamese, which I appreciated. But still, I'll never recommend any friend or family to this restaurant. The only saving grace is the tank area where you get to see a huge variety of seafood. This restaurant has a huge potential to be the star of Danang but you'll leave the restaurant...
Read moreCame across by chance while walking by the beach so decided to stop by to check out the live seafood they had to offer. I've been wanting to try King Crab and they had an enormous display of them. The price for the crab was VND3.2mil per kg which I feel was quite reasonable as the other places I surveyed was around the same price.
As I was dining alone, the staff was really helpful when it comes to choosing the size of the crab as he didn't want it to be too much for me to eat. The minimum weight was 1.8kg. However, he suggested the 1.7kg but I thought it was too small, he was pretty concerned I asked for a 2kg 🫢 so I ended up going for the 1.7kg instead which is actually way more than enough for one person. 😅
Aside from that, I also wanted oysters. It was VND350k per kg and he recommended half a kilo which is 3 pieces of huge oysters. I actually wanted 1kg 😅 but I can totally understand his concern since I was eating alone. I also ordered a plate of morning glory as a side dish.
They were so thoughtful too. When my crab came, it was the whole cooked crab so I can take a picture of it before the staff break them into manageable pieces for me to eat.
Overall, it was a great experience. The atmosphere was good especially its overlooking the beach. The staff were very transparent in the pricing and didn't try to oversell me. In fact, I think they were very much concern if I could finish all the food...
