Cool looking bar. The staff are nice. The band were great and then we were approached by the heavily drunk, bare footed owner. He shook my hand and said "this is a North Korean Bar". I tried to laugh it off because I had no actual response.
We ordered a beer and a vodka and coke... The vodka and coke came half full. They poured a little more coke in upon request but not enough so we had to ask for more.
We ordered nachos and salsa. It was pityful. About 8 nachos and a small half full bowl of terrible salsa. The hot dog wasn't bad but for 120k it was terrible value.
All of the above is nothing compared to this... The band were playing some great hits. Bob Marley, pink floyd, ACDC... Each and every song was ruined by the drunken, sloppy owner. He joined them on stage first with an electric guitar, then a trumpet, then a saxaphone, then a trumbone, then a harmonica and finally and guitar over his shoulder while playing the trumpet. All of which was out of sync and too loud compared to the rest of the musicians. It was so embarrassing for everyone watching. We connected with the table next to us because of what was happening. It wasn't fair on the band that were trying there best to play with him. While they were singing and playing he was using his microphone to order more wine that he just spilled.
I wanted to say something but we just called for our bill and left.
The cheapest beer is Saigon red and it's 55k. Tiger is 75k! The prices are a robbery.
It's such a pity because this bar could be amazing. It wouldn't take long for the band to get the crowd onside for a great night but it's all totally ruined by this owner is the epitome of a drunken, old , white, egostostic American.
I wouldn't recommend it. I'm a 28 year old Irish guy that's being in a lot of bars. I'm not overly critical and I am easily pleased. This guy's behavior was unbelievable. Such a shame. The band were so good when they played without his intervention but these moments were far and few between. A potentially good Saturday night in Dalat ruined by an...
Read moreStay clear, we got sick and lost 4 and a half million dong in only 8 days.
I contacted the place through Facebook and agreed on 6 million a month for a studio room with a small kitched, I was welcomed by poisonous pesticides and couldn't sleep all night, that didn't stop the mosquiotes from swarming my baby and making her sick for a week. We sleep with a lace dome, but you hide in there forever. We spent the next morning trying to find a better place to sleep, but when that failed we agreed to upgrade to a 8 million a month room, that wasn't bombed with poison. Because our daughter got sick and we had to make to runs to the hospital.(Something that almost never happen, as she rarely gets sick) We weren't able to find a new place faster, to which we could escape from the slow cancerous roast of Celluar Antennas that have a direct line to the hotel from 50 meters away, an unsafe distance, which by its own should advise everyone thinking about staying in this hotel for more than a night to stay clear. Eventually we stayed 8 nights for 6,650,000 the owner charged us per night and agreed to give us back 1,350,000, any attempt to convert some of the lost money of ra meal failed, even though the regular price does include breakfast. We failed to push it, because we you never want to anger people who are serving you food. In addition neightbors were burning plastic, my wife talked with a neighbor who was burning a plastic wire and asked him nicely not to, he agreed, however other neighbors who were burning leaves and plastic at night couldn't be found and we had to close the windows during the evening and wait for the air to clear out. Don't lose your time and money and look elsewhere for better service. For that price, you can do much better if its a monthly rent or a night in a 4 stars hotel instead. Terrible stay, absloutely waste of...
Read moreI accidently came here due to my mistakes when booking hotel :) however it created a very interesting experience. About the villa, it locates on a very good place with good view (to the Dalat college), the style is also old as the villa is nearly 100 years old, a little bit quite as its far from the street and with lot of trees you could listen the whisper of winds. So basically it has a good view and quite which makes it perfect for families.
But the most special thing here is the cooking skills of the chiefs. We have 3 launches here and she never made us disappointed. For simplicity, I would like to say the food is awesome. We have tried around 10 dishes and all are delicious. The good food and the good view in train coach combined with the slow music makes it perfect place for family meals. The price is also cheap ranging from 3$ to 10$ per main dishes. And I also recommend to try it by vietnamese style with a bow of rice. Trust me, you will be pleased with it.
About the facility, its not so special. We got a 50 square meters room with living room, kitchen and bathroom. However with strict people, they may expect a more modern and cleaner furniture. But to our cases, we went out most of the time so I dont care about the room so much.
My own rating is: food 11/10 view...
