While i've only eaten at the restaurant in this hotel, not been an overnight guest, it's high time i leave a review. I checked and the restaurant is not listed separately on the map, so forgive me this discrepancy. Having seen how immaculately they maintain the bathrooms, restaurant, elevators, and bar and lobby, i have no doubt the rooms are on par. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate my elderly friend and i each time we come, and we've eaten at the breakfast buffet close to ten times, as well as a la carte lunches and dinners when there are few customers. Buffet 6am-10am: From a nice blue cheese and liver paté on the charcuterie bar, banh mi fixings, waffles and bacon and omelettes and soft-boiled eggs, to kimchi, sushi rolls, and several varieties of soups and noodles, this buffet has a stunning variety of foods. It isn't as vast as some of the buffets in bigger cities, but for a small vacation town it really delivers. I imagine it will be many years before another buffet in town can match this one. A la carte, 10am-10pm: It seems that breakfast is included in the room price, since we're often the only patrons for lunch and usually only a few tables are occupied at dinnertime, versus breakfast when there can be few tables available. The menu is varied, with four options for Vietnamese set menus (the most economical meal besides pho) to salmon and other higher-end dishes. Their fruit platter is the most generous portion i've ever seen in the world, lately offering dragon fruit, cantaloupe, green guava, and watermelon. Their teas and coffees are unsurprisingly excellent. One highlight for me is their craft red wine, which the waitress explained was more like juice. I tried it and realized it's a lot like hard cider, with an alcohol content maybe comparable to a light beer but the sweetness and sparkle of cider without having an obvious sugar-added smack the way some...
Read moreI cannot begin to explain how good this hotel was to us.
Firstly, the hotel itself is located in a great area in Da Lat city, walking distance to the lake, night markets and busy streets of pubs and restaurants. The hotel is modern and clean, with a grand spacious lobby, good restaurant & bar as well as a highlands coffee shop on the ground floor. The gym is very well equipped for a hotel gym, and our room was large with comfortable bedding and a great sized bathroom.
But what made this hotel stand out for us was the service and the staff who absolutely went above and beyond for us. My girlfriend had medical emergencies where she needed to be hospitalized twice whilst in Da Lat. The staff not only helped to arrange ambulances to different hospitals but also actually came with us to the hospitals and assisted us as much as they could, translating for us, directing where to go and providing us with so much help and information. They stayed with us for hours while we were attended to at the hospital, and even came and brought us breakfast in the morning after we had to stay overnight in hospital. They also helped us extend our stay at the hotel for a reduced rate as we couldn’t continue with our travel plans as scheduled. This service went way above and beyond anything we’ve ever experienced (or expected) and we are so grateful for their help and assistance with the hospitals and everything during that trying time. If you ever travel to Da Lat, do yourself a favor and stay at the Golf Valley Hotel and experience the level of service that we felt. Thank you to everyone at the hotel - I wish I could give them more...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at the Golf Valley Hotel for three nights, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel has a good location, the service and attention to guest needs were significantly lacking. Here are the main issues we encountered:
Breakfast Buffet: This was a consistent source of frustration. The food stations were very poorly managed. We frequently found trays to be empty, and the staff was extremely slow to refill them. Waiting for basic items each morning is not how you want to start your day on vacation. The quality of the food that was available was also mediocre at best.
Housekeeping: The daily room cleaning felt very superficial. More importantly, the amenities were not replenished. The hand soap was never refilled during our 3-night stay, and on our final day, we were left with no shower soap at all. This is a basic failure in hospitality.
Lack of Amenities: When we asked the front desk for an iron and an ironing board, we were simply told that the hotel does not have them. This is a very basic amenity that we would expect from a hotel of this rating and price point.
Overall, our stay was defined by a consistent lack of attention to detail and guest comfort. We left feeling disappointed and would not choose to...
