As a Hanoian and a big fan of bun cha who had tried it all around everywhere I can say that this place has a ridiculous mediocre quality bun cha. The meat is always so tastless and burnt because bun cha is not supposed to be quickly grilled over fire but slowly over charcoal so it can give the meat the best flavor. The meat and meatballs also seems to be very cheap quality comparing to other places. Spring rolls are very mediocre, oily, full of bean sprouts and overpriced for the quality. Also if you eat bun cha at the best spots in the city, they will grill the meat just as you order or just before putting it into your bowl.
I just cannot understand the high ratings and hype of this place. The only nice thing is the cheerful lady owner there and possibly the service of the hot dipping soup, but the way the woman communicate seems for me more like a good marketing technique. Had been in this bun cha a few times during a few years but there was none efforts put into making it a higher quality, more tasty bun cha.
Try top spot around Hanoi's center like: Bún chả Gầm Cầu, bún chả 41 Cửa Đông, bún chả Bà Vượng, bún chả Hàng Quạt as the best spot to have a clear view about Hanoi style bun cha and come back here to compare. Around Westlake area I would recommend Bún chả Friends, bún chả 32 Phú Xá, bún chả Huyền Trang on Lac Long Quan road, bún chả 77 Nước Phần Lan for...

Paired with the light, tangy fish sauce dipping broth, it’s a combination that feels both comforting and extraordinary.
