Cồ Đàm Chay — Restaurant in Hà Nội

The place is beautifully designed, both inside and outside. As a person who loves nature and cares for the environment, it touched my heart to see the elegant solutions here and there around not using paper napkins.

Me and my date got two different servings so we could taste each other’s. Both meal sets were really delicious, and the amount of food in each is thoughtful, so that we left the table satisfied and not too full. The food presentation was also very pleasing.

The hostess was friendly and professional, I liked the food presentations by her. Sometimes there was also another lady who presented the meals, sadly I couldn’t understand what she was saying (totally not her fault, I’m just describing my experience). Our empty plates after each meal were instantly cleaned.

The only downside for me as a person highly sensitive to noises was the sound of chair scratching the floor when I needed to go to the bathroom, really ruined the mood for a moment. This is something that can be fixed easily with felt pads or rubber glides or any other furniture glides that provide a protective layer between the chair and the floor, so I’m not sure why this wasn’t taken care of.

Other than that, everything was perfect, and I would love to come back whenever I am in...

As expected a really nice restaurant, cozy, a bit dark inside, pretty interior. We were welcomed nicely and seated swiftly. We had the choice between two menus and chose both to try all. 11 courses for each and 3 courses were the same. One is Asian inspired and one is western. The twist was that the Asian ones looked western and the other way round. Cute idea.

Spoiler: The first course wasn’t very memorable, gingery slight curry taste, a nice refreshing but herby start. The second course was our favorite by far. A hot soup with mushroom (didn’t get the truffle tho). The staff tried to explain it to us in both Vietnamese and English. But unfortunately we didn’t always get what exactly we were eating. Plus they took away the menus away which were written on the fan and even these we weren’t really able to read.

The third course was a delight. Refreshing, light, tangy and a bit sour. Surprise to find mangosteen in a fruit salad as we usually find mango or other fruits. Loved it.

4th was the most creative course.

Except for the warming soup as the 7th course I found all the other courses a bit lacking.

for Xmas 2024 we book this place, it's kind of weird that for Xmas diner we went to a vegetarian restaurant, but we definetly did not regret anything magnificient !! have been dining all over the world, this is the one place I would give 6 stars, never been to such a beautifule place, you should dine at this place, at least once in your lifetime, but WARNING it is a vegetarian restaurant the restaurant outside looks like a monument, the inside decor is so well decorated the dishes are works of art in term of presentation and TASTE (important!!) never I had a chance to taste something so fine and taste so good the lady cook should be an artist the restaurant serve only 2 tasting menus, presented on a paper fan (see pictures) each dishes served is presented and explained by the staff service of course is top Love it so much that I posted here about 38 pictures for you to have a look, also I didn't even look at the bill paid 6 million VND for 6, I consider it's cheap for what it is highly highly highly highly highly...
