The Root Boardgame Cafe — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Drinks' prices range from 40k to 60k VND, the flavor is good or amazing, depending on what u order.

Boardgames: They have a variety, from ez to play to more complex games, party games for large group to solo games. They have game masters to recommend games and teach you rules for new games. (Some of the games cost extra fee if u want to play them, but the free games are plentiful and super fun to play with so no need to worry)

Atmosphere: The place itself is quite small so whenever there r many people, it will be quite noisy, but dont worry cause if u come in groups, your laughters and conversations will make other noises sound less noisy anyway. They do have air conditioner and the toilet is ok.

In overall, it is a nice place to hang out and have fun with your friends

A really nice little space that feels more like someone's living room than a commercial cafe. You can buy drinks and choose board games from their large collection on the shelves. There's small fees to pay for playing some of the more involved/newer games but nothing crazy. Also they have all kinds of games, well known classics, strategy heavy nerdy stuff, easy to learn quick games... Something for everyone and the people who run the place are happy to explain any new games to customers. Recommend coming here especially when it's either rainy or too hot out!

PSA: there's cats hanging out in the front room. I'm slightly allergic and didn't notice any effects though.

Found this place as shelter from the rain! It was an unexpected yet welcome find down an alley. The staff is friendly and really helpful at explaining the cafe's concept (how they price boardgames, there are some fun free ones you can play if you order a drink). They also offer to initially facilitate some games to teach the customers how to play. Only downside (?) I ordered the mojito which should be alcoholic, but there's barely any kick to it for the price, so I recommend ordering something else if something to make you tipsy is what you're looking for. Anyway they still have many drink options ☺️. Still a great place to hangout...
