I travelled to this hotel end of November for a short work trip in Hanoi with a number of colleagues.. We arrived late at the hotel one midweek evening. The taxi dropped us off infront of the hotel which had very steep steps to get to reception, we lugged the bags up, this was fine as for the cost of hotel didn't expect any help from staff. We got into the small reception area, there was a loud group drinking on the only set of chairs and we were greeted by a receptionist who hardly spoke English and struggled to find our bookings, it took around 15 minutes for him to finally work it all out with lots of us pointing at the screen. He gave my colleague a key to a room which already had someone in which was all very awkward and resulting in more time and hassle trying to sort. I needed to check a few emails etc when in room but wifi did not work.||||After those initial negative bits on arrival we had to try and get an early sleep as possible as we were delivering a media workshop for local university students the next day so around 11:30pm in the end.||||AT 4AM I WOKE TO A CRASHING THUNDERING NOISE. I JUMPED UP SCARED AND WENT TO THE BATHROOM TO SEE WATER CRASHING DOWN FROM CRACKS IN THE CEILING AND EVEN FROM THE ELECTRICAL LIGHT. I AM AWARE HOW MANY OPEN WIRES AND DANGEROUS ELECTRICALS CAN BE IN SEA SO THIS WAS POTENTIALITY LIFE THREATENING. I TOOK A QUICK VIDEO AND RAN DOWN TO RECEPTION TO SHOW THEM, THE TWO RECEPTION STAFF WERE SLEEPING ON THE SOFA AND I WOKE THEM UP TO SHOW THEM. THEY CAME UP TO ROOM AND STARTED CALLING THEIR BOSS OR SOMEONE. AGAIN THEY DIDNT SPEAK MUCH ENGLISH SO HARD TO COMMUNICATE. I UNPLUGGED ALL MY ITEMS CHARGING, QUICKLY PACKED UP MY BAG AND DRAGGED EVERYTHING OUT THE ROOM. ONE OF THE MEN WENT TO CHECK ROOM UPSTAIRS BUT SAID THEIR ROOM WAS OK. AFTER GETTING A LADDER AND LOOKING AT, SUPPOSEDLY TURNING OFF A PIPE TAP, THE MAN SAID IT WILL BE OK SOON AND KINF OF SAYING I COULD GO BACK IN THE ROOM SOON. I SAID NO WAY.||||After going to reception, they said they would send me to their sister hotel and get me a taxi to it which was supposedly nearby. At this point it was around 5am, I didn't have much of a choice as my colleagues were sleeping. Off I went in a taxi at 5am in Hanoi on first night, I didn't have any local money as my colleague was covering expenses, so I had hoped the receptionist had explained they were paying. I arrived at the sister hotel ten minutes later and the receptionist spoke a bit better with his English. He checked me in to a room and the plan was for taxi to pick me back up at 7am to take me back. I got back to camellia boutique hotel and with my colleagues we left for another hotel immediately. The management offered a very minimal refund for just half of my first nights stay on just my room and said it apparently happened in lots of hotels in the...
Read moreI stayed at A25 Luxury Hotel – 12 Pho Hue during a business trip and found it generally well-suited for work-related travel. The room was fully equipped with all essential amenities, making it comfortable for both resting and working. The overall atmosphere was quiet enough for productivity, and the location is quite convenient for moving around the city.
However, there are some areas that could be improved. The hotel does not have its own parking lot, which can be inconvenient if you’re driving, as it requires parking at a distance. Upon check-in, the front desk service felt a bit slow, and it seemed the room wasn’t fully prepared before my arrival. I had booked a single-bed room, but was given a room with two smaller beds instead, which wasn’t what I expected.
Despite these minor issues, the stay was still comfortable overall. Housekeeping maintained the room well during my visit, and the facilities were in good condition. For business travelers or short stays, this hotel remains a good choice, especially if parking is not a priority.
Overall, I’d rate my experience 4 out of 5 stars — solid and reliable, with room for small...
Read moreThis is the first time I have visited in Hanoi. I was really lucky when I chose Camellia Boutique Hotel. I met many fantastic friends here. Until now, I still keep contact with them. They are friendly and attentive staff who are always eager to help me everything. Hanoi became one of the most beloved and memorable city I have ever been. Furthermore, Camellia is located on centre of Old Quarter where is very close to Hoan Kiem Lake. Specially, being slightly removed from the hustle and bustle is perfect to relax and sleep at night. The room was very clean, convenient and comfortable and I love the beautiful view from the window at Camellia. Overall, I have a wonderful time at Camellia, highly recommend.|Special thanks to Manager and your team that took good care of us. I certainly come back as soon...
