Great meal! Absolutely feeling it the next morning as I've been used to Vietnamese food for a while now but it was divine. The mint chutney was outstanding, especially with the vegetable samosa. I forgot to photograph the samosa but it was enormous. Since we'd recently started eating vegetarian only, I thought we won't have many decent options but it was amazing. The garlic naan got cold quickly because there was a wall fan blowing directly at us - might have been good to turn it around I think but we never bothered saying it. The poppadoms were a tad stale but went down a treat with the mango chutney. We had the vegetable Talha, the vegetable kofte and the pulao rice. All amazing! The Dahl in the talha worked best with the naan but otherwise the rest were great with the rice. I believe they gave a salad dish on the side (since we hadn't ordered it nor paid for it) which was wonderful too. The decor at this restaurant is lovely - it is a slight shame that it's on the main road so things can get loud. One thing I will say is that we saw Mirinda on the menu and got excited so we ordered. We were first given a beer and corrected that by asking for the Mirinda. Instead we were given a Fanta orange. Speaking on behalf of all Mirinda lovers, those are not the same thing 😬 That said - it was a truly filling, flavourful and amazing meal. I'd come back again if I have more...
Read moreWe surprisingly bumped into this place! It was above expectation. Why? The taste is really authentic. Especially the Baigan Masala, eggplant curry like. The cheese & garlic naan bread was tasty. Surprisingly huge (we try not to waste food)! A bit of an overkill, but they meant it well! The Indian waiter is very helpful. I asked for vegetarian dished he would recommend (the first guy did not understand the word vegetarian). The vegetables of the paneer Tikka was fresh. Personally, I would like the onion more caramelized, the bell pepper a bit softer and a bit more taste. As an appetizer we got some papadum on the house, very sweet of them. The Indian music is nice. It is a clean place with also a clean toilet. Prices are reasonable. You can also pay by card. You have lots of choices! One more thing, the Google location...
Read moreBit of a letdown to be honest. As a Brit who loves a good curry, we were really looking forward to this but left DISAPPOINTED. I asked for a chicken madras and even made it clear I wanted it spicy – but what I got was a pretty BLAND curry that tasted like a supermarket ready meal. Some bits of the chicken were a bit CHEWY too.
The naan, onion bhaji, and rice were actually nice, so not all bad – but the service really let the experience down. The staff were mostly sitting in the corner on their phones, and we had to get their attention just to get the water we ordered and have our starter plates cleared – which felt a bit IGNORED.
When we left, there was no goodbye, and we didn’t get our full change back, which was DISAPPOINTING. Overall, not a place I’d recommend.
