Bong Cat Ba — Restaurant in Hải Phòng

We stopped here for an early dinner - cute restaurant with really good food and great service. We ordered the Vietnamese Beef Stew with Bread which was delicious comfort food - so good as the weather was getting chilly. We also ordered Bun Cha Gio with Pork - the pork rolls were out of this world - I don’t know how these are made but the texture and crunchy exterior (deep-fried wrapped in rice noodles?) with the flavorful sausage-like meat were unlike anything we’ve had in Vietnam so far. The sauce and noodles were also good, the veggies fresh and flavorful. We also ordered black coffee (delicious and strong) and dessert - Dua fam coconut bean and Kem Bo Dua coconut / avocado ice cream. These were both unique and so good we would go back for them again - not overly sweet but hit the mark for something sweet to finish...

Most reviews are positive so I think we just went at an inconvenient time.

The food took an hour to arrive, and they didn’t even start cooking it until 30 minutes after our order. They didn’t tell us there would be a wait and we were constantly guessing how long it would be.

We eventually decided kill time by going on a walk and were told the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes however after returning 20 minutes later our food was still not ready.

The food was alright, and the drinks were okay. The little girls were very sweet, and enjoyed...

Best spot for a bite in Cat Ba!! Best options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The smoothie I had was delicious! Their food is also unreal! All the ingredients are so fresh! And everything is very reasonably priced. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming! (: highly recommend! We'll be back! They have everything from smoothies to ice cream to sandwiches...
