Having stumbled upon 5G Saigon while wandering the streets, I gotta say, it was a pleasant surprise. This place isn't fancy by any means, but it's got a cool, casual vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome.
First impressions: Open and airy: The outdoor seating is perfect for catching the breeze and people-watching. Inside, it's got a local pub feel with exposed brick walls and wooden tables. Friendly staff: The staff were attentive and helpful, even though English wasn't their first language. They were happy to recommend dishes and answer any questions I had.
The food and drinks: Beer selection: They have a good selection of local and international beers, with something to please every palate. I went for a classic Saigon Lager, which was nice and cold, just the way I like it. Snacks and bites: The menu features typical Vietnamese pub fare, like spring rolls, fried rice, and grilled meats. I tried the nem nuong (grilled pork skewers) and they were delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to tender perfection.
Overall experience: 5G Saigon isn't a fine-dining experience, but it's a great spot to relax, have a few drinks, and grab a bite to eat with friends. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is chill, and the staff is friendly. It's the kind of place I could see myself becoming a regular at, especially on a hot afternoon when a cold beer and some tasty snacks are just what the...
Read moreWe saw the good review of this restaurant and decided to come here for a date night. Such a bad decision. The food is ok but the wait is extremely long. We wait exactly 30 mins each order. The staff really did not care for us. They only care for their friends. I suspect their meals will be prioritized. We arrived by 7:24 pm and we got our first meal at 8:15pm. And our order is just a beef steak. How the heck do you cook a beefsteak in 45 minutes. Do you guys go to the market to buy beef after I ordered. We are really disappointed. The extra star is for the food. It is not bad. But maybe you want to come...
Read moreGood food, affordable price! The atmosphere was really cozy & the music was not too loud, mostly pop songs. Even though the address is D.4, it’s quite close to D.1 & you get a good view of Hoang Dieu street. Staff are friendly with fast service. The beer was nothing fancy but better than most regular ones (Tiger, etc.).
We spent about 1.2 million VND for 3 people with lots of food & 2 bottles of beer (1l each)
Must-try: Beef bone marrow, Chicken cartilage (I had to order 2 cuz they’re soooo good), Shrimp salad (dressing sauce is tasty with the combination of Japanese soy + mayo & lots of...
