I’ve been coming to Au Parc since 2009, and I can confirm with anthropological certainty that while restaurants in Vietnam live fast and die young (average shelf life: 4.5 years, like yoghurt), Au Parc is the café equivalent of a fine wine—aging gracefully while watching me not do the same.
Over the years, this place has witnessed the rise and fall of currencies, governments, and more tragically, my first marriage. It then quietly toasted my remarriage and eventually kept my children entertained with bread baskets while I drank coffee pretending to be Parisian. If you want a venue that doubles as a family chronicle, skip the diary—just come here every weekend and order a flat white. The food? Still excellent. The salads have that smug balance of virtue and flavour, and the salmon is grilled like it actually went to university. The décor? Essentially unchanged, apart from the expansion into the next premises, proving that architectural evolution can be achieved with a hammer and a quiet confidence. The vibe? Perfect for sipping coffee, staring moodily out the window, and convincing yourself you’re in a French novel.
Now, management has started offering coasters if you leave a Google review. I never asked for the coasters. I don’t need validation, and neither does Au Parc. This café has survived for 15+ years in a city that reinvents itself every Tuesday. It is validation. So yes, five stars. Not for the coasters, not for the coffee, not even for the lentils—but for being the one constant in my life that didn’t end up in the...
Read moreI have been a regular and loyal customer of Au Parc since years. Every time I went back to Saigon, this was definite place for me to visit. Have been bringing many colleagues, friends to this place. While I always love sitting at their patio looking at the park, everything is still fine except the staffs who are in charge of this area, to be specific there was a chubby guy with his all-the-time cold and unfriendly face. It was not a first time but multiple times I observed and witnessed his not cool behaviors. I know he might be overloaded and tired but as a customer spending at a-not-cheap place like Au Parc, I would expect a better service and more friendly attitudes. It would be amazing for him to improve his attitudes or perhaps, the manager can assign more staffs to support him so he can be more chilled while doing his job to make customers happier. It’s a new year and people come to your place to have a good time, not the other way around. Another minor thing (my personal opinion), you should treat all customers the same no matter where they come from, whether they are Vietnamese or foreigners, they all pay the same amount, sometimes even more.
I will still keep coming back since I truly like the place and its vibes. But please kindly improve such things so you can keep your long term and loyal customers, just like myself.
Thank you for your attention and...
Read moreAu Parc Restaurant is perfectly situated in the heart of District 1, just a short walk from key tourist attractions like the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Central Post Office. Its prime location makes it a convenient spot to grab a bite after exploring the city. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a blend of rustic Mediterranean charm and modern touches. Whether you’re seated indoors or enjoying the outdoor terrace, the ambiance is perfect for a leisurely brunch or a relaxed meal with friends.
The service at Au Parc was excellent, and the waitress was especially great with her recommendations. She suggested the Algiers’ Shakshouka, and it did not disappoint. The combination of 3 perfectly poached eggs in a rich, spiced tomato base with olive oil, peppers, onions, cumin, paprika, and harissa was simply divine. Paired with sourdough bread, it was both hearty and satisfying. At VND185,000, it felt like great value for such a well-prepared dish.
On top of the excellent food, Au Parc offers convenient payment options, including Apple Pay and credit cards, which makes the whole experience even more seamless for tourists and locals alike.
Overall, Au Parc is easily one of the best brunch spots in Ho Chi Minh City. Whether you’re looking for a Mediterranean-inspired meal or just a cozy spot to unwind, this restaurant delivers on all fronts....
