Ussina Sky 77 Restaurant is without a doubt a MUST experience in Saigon (HCMC) Vietnam. Note, not (must see) MUST EXPERIENCE. Seeing is NOT believing, it's knowing! After YOU experience this Sky Bar restaurant you too will know! In two words luxuriously exquisite! 5 Stars right from the top. The adventure begins ascending to the 77th level of the Landmark building. The artwork, elevator, fixtures and craftsmanship sets the agenda. As the elevator opens you're greated warmly and seated. However you will RISE from your seat to marvel at the over 270 degree magnificent view. Simply Amazing. Oh yes, the Food! Where and how do I begin to articulate this culinary delight. I guess "3" letters sum it up: OMG... separate waitresses place your napkin upon you. 3 menus offered that weigh over a pound. Food, Wine List and Drinks! We selected the Rib Eye and it was presented prior to Cooking FROZEN rock hard for examination. (I have never) once approved, off to the Chef. As each course is prepared, one after another; your palate is brought along for the ride. DIVINE... taste, textures, colors presentation, smell, flavors all meticulously blended harmoniously together. I simply don't have the words. Allow these pictures to offer only a glimpse of the experience; and these pictures are worth 10 million words... one small issue. Taking pictures at night bounce the reflection from the interior wall. (I recommend that they deploy Black shades) as they do have shades on the window side for Sun; do the opposite for Night pictures and videos. They seemed appreciative! If that's the only challenge no problem. To sum it up! My Highest recommendation!!! Oh the price very reasonable and incredibly WORTH it. Enjoy as close to Heaven on Earth as you can get in Saigon...
Read moreThe overall experience at Ussina was excellent. The food was beyond our expectation especially their wagyu set, even though they didn’t have A5 wagyu when we visited, the set was so tender and tasty and better than most steak restaurants in our recent trip to Japan. Our waitress Alyssa took excellent care of us, she explained everything really well and is very cheerful and attentive all the time. The main reason we picked Ussina to celebrate our anniversary is for their atmosphere and view. The view is truly stunning and perfect for watching sunset and enjoy the night scene of busy Ho Chi Minh City streets from above. One star is deducted for these: For a high end restaurant as such, I was hoping for a quiet experience, however, well into the night a young kid started playing his iPad loudly and bothering other customers including us far from their table. It should be the family’s responsibility to control the kid but I think management could give better training to their staffs as to how to handle these kind of situation in an upscale establishment in the future. (Note: My husband wanted to do something about it but we were about to leave and didn’t want to put Alyssa in a tough position and just let it go.) Guessing the fact that we are celebrating our wedding anniversary for the evening was not communicated to the wait staff. I was hoping for a greeting of “happy...
Read moreThis Japanese restaurant (I assume it's Japanese as the staff constantly greeted in Japanese) had incredibly frustrating service. I was dining alone and ordered two main courses and a whisky cocktail. While waiting, I asked a server for a glass of water – just a glass of water – but they refused, insisting I buy sparkling water instead. This forced me to have my whisky, which I had intended for after the meal, earlier than planned. I asked again later, and another server also refused. It wasn't until they clearly sensed my frustration that they finally brought me a glass of water. Providing water should be a basic service for any restaurant, especially for what is supposed to be a high-end Japanese steakhouse. I strongly urge the manager to reconsider this policy. Such inconsistency and reluctance are truly infuriating and made me feel mistreated. Aside from this, the food was quite good; the beef was cooked to a satisfactory standard, and the Ussina whisky had a unique, pleasant smoky flavor. There's even a 77th-floor night view of Ho Chi Minh City from the window. Everything else was excellent, except for the unbearable stinginess...
