The tacos are a bit small, but standard for Vietnam; 55K/$2.15 each. I had the Korean Pork Carnitas. It was good, but I didn't know what was Korean about it.
The burritos are a good size, standard large; 189K/$7.45. I had the Baja Seabass Fish. It was pretty loaded, and the fish was good. However, mixed with the rest of the filling, I didn't think it was a good mixture. I like black beans, but I wouldn't ever top off a fish filet with them. It seems like the burritos are more or less standardized, with just a main ingredient switched? My friend had a different burrito, other than the cheese, it looked mostly the same... I think it was a good quality burrito. Just, I probably would have liked something else more.
One thing I didn't like was I had to ask for sauce. There was no sauce/salsa of any kind on the table, and the sauce that was given wasn't a salsa and was a bit weird.
The coconut for 30K/$1.20 was good (brown coconuts in Vietnam taste better than...
Read moreThe food was really delicious and the price is right. I loved the nachos. Too bad the guard with the mohawk outside was lazy and unprofessional, why is he sitting with his friends drinking instead of helping us park? He talked to my girlfriend nicely but every time I spoke his facial expression changed and he raised his voice. The restaurant staff told me to park infront and when I tried to do so he told me not to, and pointed me in a far away direction to park. When I explained to him that the restaurant staff told me to park infront he said “I said no, I’m security” (I suspect he didn’t let me because he was too lazy to move the bikes 2 cm to the side for us to park,m) And all of this while he is lazing around with his friends instead of moving and watching the bikes. Maybe he should find a job that involves spending time with his friends before he loses someones bike. Eitherway I’ll be comming back cause the food is...
Read moreAbove and beyond hospitality + AMAZING food! When I asked the very personable owner Calvin if El Camino had any vegan options, he was more than happy to put together a vegan taco dish for us to the best of his ability, which turned out to be absolutely amazing! My boyfriend was totally lost in "food heaven" and had to close his eyes the whole time to luxuriate in the divine and unique fusion flavours. We also really loved the chips with edamame guac and El Camino's delicious homemade pepper sauces. Not only that, when we arrived we were welcomed with hugs AND free welcome shots AND left with even more free food!! This is hospitality done right! We felt very well taken care of and would gladly support El Camino again - especially if new vegan specials are in the works, which Calvin assured me...
