being a loyal customer for last 15 years I am deeply disappointed. One of the famous and eldest german restaurant in hcmc strongly degraded. Food and drinks still ok, but the service and management becomes horrible. If you like to throw food leftovers, napkins and other rubbish on the floor or enjoy the people around you doing this - go to this place. Nobody stop it, nobody clean it for hours. If you are waiting your credit card more then 30 min, easier to block it, do not pay and go to another place. So sorry to say this, but today we didn't see any known face of waiters neither manager. Happy surprise. Unassuming from the street, kinda narrow actually, but goes deep. Green leather look and German word feel all around. The food is typical german. The staff is super attentive and friendly. Our waiter told us he was with the same restaurant for over 15 years! Shocked. But they take pride and it shows. Noisy on Friday evening. Since it's been around many years, it's well known among locals. Most/all diners were vietnamese. I never got to experience the food since the restaurant smelled so bad from cigarette smoke that I just couldn't bring myself to eating there. It was early afternoon on a Saturday with no other guests at the restaurant at that time. From the cigarettes on the bar it must have been the staff who smoked.
