Among all the fancy sushi chains in Saigon, Indigo offers something more home-style and comforting. The bento is a well-rounded introduction. The exciting combination dishes are all tied together with the rice. Seemingly simple, it's cooked perfectly for that ideal individual-grain chew, and a slightly sticky texture for easy chopstick dining. The grilled mackerel has a crisp, charred skin with subtly sweet flesh underneath. The karaage adds a crispy contrast in texture with a juicy bite, with miso soup on the side to wash it all down. The small side dishes add both colour and complexity, mild squid kimchi, creamy tuna cucumber mayo salad, pickled mustard greens, and pickled daikon to freshen up each bite. However, the unagi don was simply indulgent. The rice is generously coated in a sweet-savoury unagi tare, married to every single grain. The eel on top is tender yet not overly soft and is elevated by the jiggly, buttery omelette, which adds an addictive richness that I've never...
Read moreOverall: • There is ramen which suitable for 1 people dine in • Suggested to visit with friend as some portion is too big to eat alone • No waiting queue
Food: • I order normal sushi with small size. I dont like this dish as they include some wasabi … I dont like wasabi … Not sure if this is the style to put a little of wasabi in every sushi or only the menu that I was order. Moreover, I came nearing the time of their last order so some sashimi may not that fresh at all. • Also order Udon ramen, the portion is suit for 1 people with light soup and not salty • There are plenty of drink but I order fresh Apple juice. I’m satisfy with the taste as it’s not too sweet but I felt like it’s the sweet from fresh apple.
Service: • Staff is friendly and can speak/listen English a bit
Atmosphere: • Japanese decoration style • They have motorbike parking but not that much since the restaurant size is...
Read moreA local shop located in D3 with an izakaya-style menu featuring fresh fish, set dishes, and plenty of delicious offerings for Japanese food lovers everywhere.
Don’t let the decors and interiors fool you, this is definitely a MUST-TRY Japanese joint for every occasion. We got a set of sashimi, grilled mackerel, a swordfish bowl, and some wasabi octopus to try along with two drinks. What surprised me here is the FRESHNESS of the sashimi, SO GOOD. This will be my go-to place for sashimi going forward (even the regular tuna is more delicious compared to other locations I’ve been to). Everything else tasted pretty good to the taste, and the price is definitely worth for the portions you get. Overall, a solid experience for a delicious meal, spectacular service, and chill vibes. Will be coming back 100%,
P.S. They also have a party room and catering options for larger gatherings, so definitely...
