I chanced upon this place while I was walking towards Chinatown. I was drawn by the bright and cheerful facade (but to be honest, it was starting to drizzle outside and it was 2pm already! haha). And I was not left disappointed.
Let's talk on the food first. I ordered Banh Xeo Tom Nhay - pancakes with shrimps. Portion was huge and presentation was neat and impeccable. Though the taste was a bit bland and lack of the umami-ness, the freshness of the ingredients compensated. Everyone who ordered it was shown the way to make our own wrap with the veg and rice paper by the waiter or waitress. The pancake batter was a bit too crispy and thick for me but maybe that's how to have it in Danang (i googled and found out they started in Danang). That's just my personal preference on the texture.
But what impressed me the most and blew me away was the level of service. Everyone was super friendly and genuine and I could feel it's a happy place. The wait staff are very attentive. They greeted everyone who walked in and was at the door when every customer left. You can see everyone making the extra effort to communicate with the non-Vietnamese customers. They are so earnest! I would highly recommend this place and will go back again when I'm in Saigon.
Thank you for the great hospitality...
Read moreMy group of five stumbled upon this delightful Vietnamese restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, and what a find it was. The decor immediately catches your eye, with its rich, traditional Vietnamese touches that make you feel truly immersed in the local culture.
Given that we didn't have any specific recommendations from social media, we decided to be adventurous and simply order whatever caught our eye from the picture menu. To our absolute delight, every single dish was a winner not a single bad choice in the lot!
A standout was the grilled pork belly. It was perfectly cooked, with a wonderfully crisp exterior that gave way to tender, juicy meat. Paired with a spicy dipping sauce, it was incredibly moreish and surprisingly light. We also thoroughly enjoyed the grilled pork with rice noodles. I’ve had this dish before in Laos, and the flavours here were just as authentic and delicious a testament to the shared culinary heritage of the region.
What makes this place even better is the price. For a group of five, we were able to enjoy a fantastic, satisfying meal without breaking the bank. A brilliant spot for anyone looking for a genuine and affordable taste of Vietnam. Highly...
Read moreWe had a wonderful lunch at Bếp Cuốn Sài Gòn! The location is excellent—right next to Tao Dan Park and surrounded by convenient spots like 7-Eleven and Family Mart, making it a great area to stroll around after a meal.
We’ve previously visited Bếp Cuốn in Da Nang and really enjoyed it, so we were excited to try the Ho Chi Minh City branch—and it did not disappoint! We ordered Cơm chiên hải sản, Bún chả, Bếp Cuốn Combo 2, and a few other dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious.
A special thanks to Ms. Nhu Y, one of the staff members, who made our experience even more memorable. She was incredibly attentive and helpful—guiding us through the menu, confirming our order carefully, and even showing us how to properly enjoy some of the more interactive dishes like the DIY spring rolls. It was a fun and immersive experience!
The restaurant also offers convenient charging ports next to the tables, which was a thoughtful touch.
Highly recommended—and don’t miss the Nước chanh sả (lemongrass lemonade), it was...
