I’m from the states and grew up in the Midwest - living in Chicago the last eight years. I’m a bit familiar with Detroit style pizza having lived in close proximity. I think the quality here is quite good. If you’re unfamiliar with Detroit style, it’s kind of like deep dish, but less dense in the crust and usually served in rectangular squares.
I’ve gotten the thit kho (Vietnamese braised pork) and pepperoni with basil.
The thit kho is kind of a gimmicky/novelty pizza, imo. You’re not really going to get any of those flavors permeating through your slice, but, it’s still quite tasty, especially if you think of it as a pulled pork pizza. The pepperoni + basil was classic. It reminded me a little bit of prince st pizza in NYC with the little pepperoni cups.
I thought the crust was well down. It’s crispy and relatively light. The exterior of the crust is almost cracker-like. I also really enjoyed the sauce - it actually tasted like tomatoes, I think canned? I could be wrong. They also have various hot sauces available at the tables - maybe two of which they make.
The service was excellent the both times I went and closer to what I’d experience back home. Prices are reasonable - 60k a slice (you get two rectangles). Perfect if you don’t want to commit to a full pie. They also had a combo that contained a salad, slice of pizza + drink. It looked like a good deal. My friend eats like a cat and thought that they over ordered with two slices. I can eat and I think two slices was perfect - I felt completely satiated.
I personally love this spot and have been twice already. I recommend it to other Americans who may miss the Detroit...

Read moreThe first time I ordered pizza from this place last Wednesday, it was absolutely amazing. However, this Sunday, I ordered two pizzas, and they were both terrible – with very little cheese, sauce, or flavor. It felt like biting into a thick piece of bread with almost nothing on it. Disappointed, I called them seeking an explanation and expressing my hope for improvement in the future. Shockingly, the owner insisted that the pizzas were exactly how they should be, becoming defensive. If they had acknowledged a problem and shown a willingness to address it, I might have considered giving them another chance. Unfortunately, their response left me highly dissatisfied, and based on today's experience, I rate them a "1." It was the worst pizza I...
