ME-TETSU IZAKAYA — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Highly recommended Me Tetsu Izakaya (previously called Hanakaruta) for Japanese foodies! This place offers such a cozy, authentic Japanese izakaya in hidden alleys. The menu is diverse, with a wide range of options. I tried 2 dishes recommended by Ms. Le Vy - a staff here: Ton-pei yaki (original omelet with girlled pork berry) and New Taiwan Ramen (sweet & spicy minced pork ramen). Saw that this was rated so well so had to try it! Located in Japantown down the winding alleys you’ll find this small izakaya. There is limited seating but if available it’s a blast to sit at the counter. We lucked out with the last 2 seats available together and were sat immediately. The staff were outstanding. Very kind, attentive, and the cook (and maybe owner? I’m not sure) spoke with us a bit and we talked about where we are from and our travels. It was so enjoyable. Everyone spoke excellent English.

Me-Tetsu Izakaya located on the small alley in Japan Town, District 1. One of the hidden gem restaurant about Izakaya. Super fun with the experience do takoyaki by yourself. The fresh of sashimi, fall in love with Mana-katsuo (sushi ball with butter fish), salmon and ebi. You will be surprised with the Me-Tetsu roll (sushi roll with omakase by day). And try the pork belly stick too, oishi. Price is affordable more than other Izakaya restaurant in Saigon. These female staff were super friendly to us, from the waiters, Japanese chef. Loud great when you come into the restaurant. Guide you to the table on basement and help you with the takoyaki experience. You can park your motorbike in front of the restaurant, staff will help to take care it. Need to reserved the table via phone or fanpage, small restaurant with basement so only 6 tables here. My 1st time with Izakaya restaurant and love Me-Tetsu, highly recommend!

Me-Tetsu Izakaya nằm bên trong con hẻm nhỏ thuộc khu phố Nhật, quận 1. Một nhà hàng Izakaya ngon, giá mềm hơn so với các nhà hàng Izakaya khác, chất lượng sushi tươi cùng trải nghiệm tự làm takoyaki tại bàn thú vị.

Sashimi tươi ngon, đặc biệt là Mana-katsuo (sushi viên với cá bơ), cá hồi và ebi. Bạn sẽ ngạc nhiên với Me-Tetsu roll (sushi cuộn tuỳ chọn theo ngày). Và rất nên thử xiên thịt nướng nhé, oishi. Giá cả phải chăng hơn các nhà hàng Izakaya khác ở Sài Gòn.

Các bạn nữ nhân viên phục vụ rất thân thiện, nam đầu bếp người Nhật đứng quầy cũng siêu nhiệt tình.

Bạn có thể đậu xe trước quán nếu đi sớm vào khung 17-18h khi quán vừa mở, trễ hơn sẽ phải tìm bãi giữ xe cạnh bên hoặc đầu hẻm phố Nhật (chỗ đầu hẻm giữ xe hên xui nhé, mấy ông chú bảo vệ lúc nhận giữ lúc không, khó lường).

Bước vào nhà hàng sẽ là khu counter, nếu thích xem chef làm món có thể ngồi đây, hoặc theo hướng dẫn của nhân viên đến bàn dưới tầng hầm. Khu tầng hầm khoảng 6 bàn cho nhóm 4-6 người, nên đặt bàn trước khi đến. Tầng hầm trần hơi thấp, không gian kín, không có sóng điện thoại nhưng vẫn có wifi nhé.

Nếu chọn trải nghiệm tự làm takoyaki tại bàn thì các bạn nhân viên sẽ hướng dẫn bạn rất nhiệt tình các thao tác, sau đó để bạn tự trải nghiệm.
