I’m currently staying at this facility on a 10 day business trip. My agent had booked this hotel however its neither suitable for a business trip nor a long stay. The room is quite congested specially the washroom. The window is a very narrow column window, only mirror is the bathroom mirror (approx 2.5’*2.5) and the irons are on a lend-borrow basis as its limited. Shower is together with the bathtub which is again not convenient when u r to get ready in a rush for work on a daily basis. Room is not sound proof and can get noisy at night. In terms of cleanliness, apart from the shower curtains having fungi rest is okay. Given the limited amenities above, i had requested to modify my reservation to check out early, so i can switch hotels over the weekend. However i was told that i’m not able to make any modifications myself and any modifications has to come through booking.com which only my agent has access to manage booking. Later same day, receptionist called me to ask whether they can talk in person in my room while delivering the iron, which i accepted. I was then told about an early check out option (early check out with one night penalty) which i thought was reasonable and was asked to request the same via booking.com and wait for their manager to respond to the booking.com request. I had forwarded the information to my agent, and as of friday afternoon my agent had confirmed to me they havent heard from the hotel on the request comms. On saturday, i was caught by surprise when i kept getting calls from the receptionist, little past the check out time, whether i’m checking out today! I was asked to asap confirm my check out date while i had already paid for a total of 10 days during check-in. This made things a lot unpleasant. Of course my agent hasnt booked me another facility at this time because they never received a confirmation from the manager on the early check out request. So u kick me out while i had already paid for 6 more nights to come, no refund initiated and i am to live on the streets? Things got complicated and i had arranged for a three party call with my agent, hotel and myself at the earliest possible on the same day. Receptionist told my agent that they had already amended the booking.com reservation one time upon guest confirmation (the guest who isnt even eligible to manage the booking) when they came to my room and to check cctv footage if need be! This was absurd! While i like to think its a misunderstanding due to language barrier and not outright lying, either way it was very unprofessional. At the end they said the reservation is non refundable and the option provided earlier is no longer valid. So i’m literally stuck here for my whole stay in ho chi minh tolerating the minimum amenities.
Only good thing about this facility is the kitchen staff and breakfast. Reservation is inclusive of breakfast and the kitchen staff is very polite, friendly, attentive. They have like two main menus which alternates, i wouldnt say vegetarian friendly but the kitchen staff took good care of my diatery needs.
Housekeeping staff does a reasonable job and are polite.
But note the restaurant is only for breakfast and the neighborhood is not very appealing if u r a solo lady traveller looking for outside food for dinner. But remember facility doesnt have a microwave, as confirmed by housekeeping.
To add to my disappointment, from 21st-27th, instead of the in-house breakfast service, guests were to take a shuttle service to a sister hotel for breakfast! And they called it a “seem less arrangement”! Anyone who has been in HCMC would know how “seem less” this is given the morning...
Read moreI had a great stay at Kin Hotel Thai Van Lung, and I can’t recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with their warm hospitality, personable service, and attention to detail. They were always available to offer recommendations or assist with anything I needed.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed - modern, stylish, and impeccably clean. My room was spacious yet with cozy vibes, with a super comfortable bed! I loved the aesthetic branding touches across all their amenities. Most important was the soundproofing in the room which made the atmosphere extra peaceful.
The location is perfect - right in the heart of District 1, within walking distance of key attractions like the Saigon Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Nguyen Hue street, and the Japanese Quarter. Whether I wanted to visit historical sites, try local food, or just take a stroll, everything was easily accessible. There's a French cafe called Le Jardin right across the road from the hotel, Grandma Lu's Banh Mi next door, and if you're a craft beer fan like me - both Pasteur Street Craft Beer & Heart of Darkness are 1 min walk away.
The breakfast selection was also fantastic, with sufficient options to start the day right. It was clear that the hotel pays attention to quality in every aspect.
If you’re visiting Ho Chi Minh City and want a place that combines comfort, convenience, and top-notch service, Kin Hotel Thai Van Lung is the perfect choice. I’ll definitely be returning on...
Read moreI booked a stay at Kin Hotel Thai Van Lung for my wife and sister-in-law after a long trip to Ho Chi Minh City, expecting a comfortable and smooth check-in experience. Unfortunately, their stay was far from satisfactory.||First, they had to check in late due to traffic delays, but upon arrival, the room provided did not match the booking details. The listing clearly stated that it came with a bathtub, but the actual room did not have one. There was no prior notice or explanation from the staff, and they were asked to pay for a room price with a bathtub. Given the price, they could have opted for a better hotel with more transparency and service quality.||Secondly, the staff was unprofessional and unfriendly. The one assisting with luggage showed visible displeasure, as if my wife and sister-in-law had inconvenienced them. A basic level of hospitality was missing, which left a bad impression right from the start.||The room was quite small, and to make things worse, the toilet bowl was oddly small and uncomfortable, which was an issue for my wife. Given the expectations from the photos and descriptions, the actual experience was disappointing.||Overall, this stay did not meet expectations. With the same price, better hotels are available in the area, offering more professional service and transparency. Would not recommend this place unless management improves its customer service and...
