Read moreThe manager of this restaurant lacks customer services skills and his staff reflects his attitude.
This is my post after the response from Quan Bui Garden. I have been going to this restaurant for a little over a year now. I would order take away for dinner four to five times a week (on a slow week three times a week) for the last year now. The serving staff works very hard and were very courteous and helpful when I would come there and were very team oriented. When I first started coming to this restaurant, the scene was vibrant, always crowed, customer service was very good, and the food quality was exceptional. I showed my appreciation by tipping everyone, even servers who did not serve me, and sometimes the entire outside serving staff many of the times I would go and at times even the cooks in the kitchen for encouragement. My first interaction with this new manager was not good at all because his customer service skills, at least with me was lacking. The first time I saw this new manager, I was in the process of ordering and he started interrupting me and then kept interrupting me seeming trying to rush me at the same time creating a tense situation and confusion for the server taking my order; it was completely unnecessary. Maybe I was not dressed to a standard that from first looks warranted a great deal of respect is the vibe that I felt from him, but I am fully retired so I dress casual because it is comfortable, but if I need to wear a suite I have that, but again I am ordering take away. So the first exchange was tense, but he lightened up and was all smiles when I paid the bill. However the order came back wrong with food that I do not eat and I felt like him intervening in the way that he did contributed it. I have observed how the standards has changed under his leadership quickly. The veteran servers a good because they know me but the new staff not so much. And the last time I went there I got served tea in a dirty glass while I was waiting for the food with an foreign object inside of it that I only noticed after I drank from the glass. I paid for the food but did not take it because it seems like a completely different restaurant now. I do not like to write bad reviews, HOWEVER, I talked with the management of this restaurant previously, the boss of the manager about my concerns before and nothing has changed so they already know. The last couple of months has made me I feel like this restaurant has lost its soul under this new manager and his boss seems to be fine with it so I will happily take my business where it is appreciated. Over Tet the restaurant was not busy but makes are being made not just to me, I have witnessed other patrons on multiple occasions bringing up to the staff about mixed up orders, so it is not just me. People seem like that are tense and scared to make mistakes, I say this because I know how the serving staff operated before. To the servers, the ones that know me, thank you...
Read moreDon’t know whether we are unlucky when we came to Ngo Quang Huy, Thao Dien site or not. But first time we (my husband, his friend and I) came (2 years ago), my husband and his friend had food poison badly from that night for few days. I wondered why I didn't have it as I did actually ate everything else with them. So I remembered that the only thing I didn’t eat was Banh xeo with some FRESH lettuce! We definitely didn't even eat anything before and after we came to this Thao Dien site.
Today we thought we could give another try for this Thao Dien site because it has been 2 years. But no, found out that there was a cockroach’s leg in our pomelo salad (the worst thing is we nearly finished the pomelo salad already :(((). Anyway, I quickly called the waiter checked what it was and he quickly brought it back to the kitchen and asked the manager to speak to me! Well I actually felt sick when I saw it and didn't even have time to take photo of it. Well, very surprised to me and my family members that the manager said this was from another salad called 'Ba Khia' (kind of small crabs in VN) got mixed up with our Pomelo Salad. He said 'that' is the very small leg of Ba Khia, not cockroach and he said he tasted it and it is Ba Khia (well done for him that he tasted the leftover food himself in the kitchen secretly). Anyway, I asked him, well, just made another small portion of Ba Khia salad and show me that there are legs like that in the salad! He gave me all reasons like all Ba Khia are different, it wont be the same size of leg and told us that it will take quite long to make this salad, etc…. We actually were interested to know, so we waited. 15mins later it was out, seriously we all know Ba Khia is a small crab but it is still bigger than a cockroach, and cockroach’s leg is quite hairy as well (see photo below, exactly what I saw in our salad dish, hairy and small like from an insect) BUT the manager still said 'Oh, the leg you saw it was like from the very young Ba Khia and it was like the smallest leg for them.'
Seriously guys, from beginning I just wanted to know how he can show me the Ba Khia leg which looks like a cockroach's leg, and to our all surprise he still defended nonsensely about that leg. It was RIDICULOUS!!! And I was so angry that he thinks customers are stupid, so I decided to write this comment for this kind of service!
SO definitely we won’t come...
