This is the most outrageous experience of customer service I've ever witnessed, and it will be the first and last time I visit this place:

We entered as a group of four. The staff asked us to wait while they arranged a table, so we had to stand outside in the scorching sun around noon. Once we were seated, we ordered two bowls of ramen, one rice dish, and a side dish because a few members of our group don’t eat ramen.

Fifteen minutes later, a staff member (maybe a manager, I’m not sure) told us that each person had to order a ramen dish or they wouldn’t serve us any further. If not, we should leave because there were other customers waiting outside?!?

Throughout the entire process of seating us and taking our order, no one mentioned any requirement that each person must order a main dish. Why would you talk to customers like that, saying there are other people waiting outside? We are also paying customers who ordered food. It’s not like we can’t afford it! If they had spoken to us politely and explained the situation, we might have understood and ordered more to accommodate the restaurant’s policy.

With such poor service and attitude, this place doesn’t deserve to have any customers. Take this seriously and stop treating customers like this.

I strongly advise against anyone...

Due to the owner’s reply, I have to edit the rating to 0 star. Please be mindful enough to read all 1 star review and appreciate you are too precious to receive 1 star. God dammn the service and the restaurant’s customer service. With this stubborn mindset, I feel it’s a waste of time for improvement reccomendation. The food which is cooked with hatred and negative spirit could not enhance the customers’ taste. Japanese dishes but Vietnamese customer service! No waiting guests but not allowing the customers going inside. The other restaurants offer free water and free umbrellas in case guests have to wait under the 100 degree F heat in Saigon. If you could not inspire Japanese customer service through your food and service, please do not take a Japanese name for your brand. It’s a shame! Business makes profits not...

We were a group of five, and ordered 2 rice bowls, 2 ramen and 1 rice takeaway The manager said we have to make 1 ramen order each in order to continue dining in the restaurant. We would have changed the order, but the attitude of the manager was unacceptable - made us feel like we cant afford this place, what kind of attitude is this? We decided not to eat here and go to Ippudo nearby - ordered the same and got served well. Really I don't think you can survive with such bad service. If there's zero star, I would rate zero star!

Edit to respond to the comment: I ordered rice from your restaurant, but your staff said I must order ramen, cannot order rice. You can see the attitude again from the reply :) - eat here if you want to feel...

New ramen place in town (2024). Good quality bowls of ramen. They have 3 types of ramen: shoyu (soy sauce broth), miso with grill pork belly and chicken paitan (creamy chicken broth). Their shoyu is abit salty but the soy flavour did kicked-in very nice. The miso broth is a bit thicker and the grilled pork belly is very nice. My favorite one is the chicken paitan, the broth is creamy yet not being too fatty, the aroma is good too. They have a few quality side dishes, too. Price is on the high side and the place is not small but not very big so if you come by lunch time you might have to wait like 15 mins. Would come back for more

Stopped by Ramen Shinsen and had the shoyu ramen with tamago since I wasn’t too hungry. It turned out to be a decent bowl of ramen — light yet flavourful enough, with a nicely done tamago that rounded it off well. My friend went for the shrimp miso ramen, and he really enjoyed it. The broth had a strong shrimp flavour, which gave it a rich, seafood-forward depth. Overall, Ramen Shinsen delivers a solid ramen experience. Not mind-blowing, but definitely good enough to satisfy a ramen craving, with some unique options like the shrimp miso broth.

This place is newly opened with 4 flavors of ramen to choose. The ramen soup recipe was very delicious and very authentic and i believe from Kanazawa Japan. I do hope this restaurant can keep the authenticity and flavors for years to come. If i may suggest, here are some improvements to consider: 1. If there is a long line, then put up partition to guide customers to line up. 2. When necessary hand numbers to customers as a way to manage queue without physical queuing. 3. Hands should be dry at all time when handing food tray and money tray.
