Review for Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang

I recently visited Cơm Tấm Kiều Giang and wanted to share my honest experience. The food was decent, but there were some issues that really took away from the overall experience.

Food: • The broken rice (gạo tấm) was good. • The scallion oil (mỡ hành) was just average. • The fish sauce (nước mắm) was quite bland and forgettable. • The grilled pork chop had a soy sauce flavor • The shredded pork skin (bì) and steamed egg meatloaf (chả) were both just okay. • Fried egg (ốp la) is not included in combo meals—you have to order and pay for it separately, and they serve it on a different plate.

Billing: The way they structure the bill is confusing and borderline deceptive. Instead of grouping items clearly, the bill is written like a puzzle: • 1 cơm tấm A • 1 iced tea • 1 cơm tấm B • 2 eggs • 1 cơm tấm C • 1 soup • 1 iced tea • 1 soup • 4 wet towels • 1 cơm tấm D

Be sure to check your bill carefully before paying. I noticed discrepancies and pointed them out, and only then did they correct the charges. It felt like if I hadn’t noticed, they wouldn’t have said anything.

Staff: Most of the staff were young and energetic, and service was relatively quick. However, one particular staff member (I won’t name names to avoid consequences for them) didn’t seem to know what goes into a cơm tấm dish. When I ordered, they were confused, got the order wrong multiple times, and I had to repeat and clarify everything several times. Even after they read it back to me correctly, the food came out missing items. When I questioned it, another staff member defensively insisted that the order on the machine matched what was served, implying it was my mistake. I asked them to bring over the original order slip, and after some back-and-forth among the staff, they finally acknowledged the mistake and asked if I wanted to add the missing item. I declined but reminded them they shouldn’t charge for something they didn’t serve. Strangely, they didn’t even show me the bill until I specifically asked. When I finally saw it, it clearly listed everything I originally ordered, including the item they failed to serve. Yet they still claimed it was a customer error. I had to firmly insist they correct it.

As I was leaving, one staff member mumbled something under their breath with a clearly annoyed attitude. That was the final straw.

Summary: Decent food, confusing billing, and inconsistent service. If you visit, double-check your bill and be very clear with your order. Personally, I won’t...

Good weekly option for lunch!

Hygiene 😐 Toilets are okich in terms of cleanliness but the access is right in front of the room, with a very thin door, so everyone can see you. On the tables, cleanliness is variable depending on the waiters, some clean well, others dont pay so much attention. The spoon and fork are wrapped inside a plastic cover, pretty good

Menu and Quality 😁 Large choice of different Com Tam and soups. So you can eat regularly there. I like the quality of the rice.

Price😁 A bit pricier than a Com Tam you can eat on the street of course.. But still comparable to other Com Tam franchise.

Service 😁 This time was good, nothing more to add. (Sometimes no thar good, but again depends on the waiters and the training they receive from Management)

Location and Deco 😁 Good accessible location. Deco sucks but hey, i am looking at my plate, especially at lunch time. Not a place for a romantic dinner with ur love one, but more an efficient regular meal.

Great food but the service was terrible. The were many servers and most of them were around 20s something, they were really noisy. I would have understood if they were talking loudly because they want their job to be done well, in fact, they swore and joked around while making a lot of noise. When it came to the food, they brought the soup somewhat late but that was acceptable. The last straw for us was the time we asked for more sauce.
